Ah, I can't think of anything.
Has this ever happened to you?
You need to do something creative, and nothing comes to mind.
Facing a blank page can be frustrating.
Not knowing where to start or feeling like your ideas are bad makes you want to give up right away.
We might even go so far as to think we aren't creative.
Creativity.
First, let's understand what creativity is.
Creativity is the ability we humans have to transform experiences, thoughts, and emotions into original works such as stories, drawings, or music.
Creativity is a process, something that develops little by little when you try.
You make a mistake.
You try again.
You make another mistake.
The important thing is not to give up and to enjoy the process.
I'm sure you've heard someone say at some point, "I'm not creative." We can all be creative in one way or another, but how?
Basically, by not being afraid to make mistakes.
Grab that little piece of paper and draw fearlessly, or open that old notebook and write whatever comes to mind first.
Little by little, as time goes on, you'll see that it's not so hard after all.
And the key thing: be curious.
Ask questions.
Look things up.
Research whatever topic you're interested in.
Doing this will increase your creativity without you even realizing it.
Why don't you give it a try?
Do we really want that help?
Lately, tools have emerged to help us with creative projects that only humans could do before.
What are we talking about?
That's right, artificial intelligence.
Make a poster for the school's Halloween party.
And this brings us to our first question: Are we sure we want to use AI for our creative projects?
The anchor effect.
Turning to AI when facing a creative block is the easy way out, but there's a catch.
It's called the anchor effect.
If a machine gives you your first idea, your brain can get stuck on that suggestion and lose the ability to explore its own original paths.
To create something authentic during these stages when you're developing your creativity, you need to learn to tolerate that initial frustration.
The result will be worth it.
Look at this awesome poster I made.
It took me a while, but I'm really proud of it.
The risk of everything being the same.
If we let artificial intelligence do all the creating for us, we run the risk of everything ending up being the same, and that would be really boring.
For now, don't worry about perfection or what others are doing.
You're developing your creativity.
Imperfections are part of the learning process, and above all, part of your style.
Creating imperfect things without fear allows you to experiment, learn, and most importantly, enjoy the process.
But if we all settle for AI's first suggestions, our creations might end up looking alike.
Frida Kahlo turned her experiences, her emotions, and her way of seeing the world into paintings with an unmistakable personality.
If she'd had access to AI during her creative process, what would her work have been like?
Where does AI get its ideas?
Even though it may seem so, artificial intelligence does not have imagination and does not feel inspiration.
It does not create out of thin air.
It analyzes millions of data points and patterns previously created by people and acts according to what we humans ask it to do.
AI isn't creative.
It's a tool that combines human ideas to create.
And this raises another question: Do the authors know that artificial intelligence is trained using their work?
What's truly valuable about creating something isn't just the final product or result, but the learning that happens along the way.
The next time you're faced with a blank sheet of paper, take your time.
Trust yourself.
AI is a great tool that can help us with many things, but as we develop our creativity, what could happen if we let it do all the work for us?
