Oh hi, buddy.
We don't really know what happened, how he landed there.
A really sad thing to see that somebody would leave an animal in that state.
Getting some new buddies.
He came to the shelter.
He was just shaking uncontrollably.
It made me feel like the best thing that we could do for him was take him home and make him our foster.
So we brought him home, and he was still just exhausted and completely drained.
That's your baby.
One of our dogs in particular.
She was a street dog, and she had puppies on the street.
She showed the most interest off the bat, just laying by him, licking him, just doing all the stuff that a mother would do.
That's your baby.
And then his real big breakout into the world is when.
Oh my God, he's running!
We're setting up for a gala, and that's when he really took to my wife, Natalie.
He was finally able to use his legs on his own, and he sure used them to follow her around.
you miss your dad?
I think we knew as soon as we walked into our house with him that he was going to stay.
The most amazing thing is when he first started to use the stairs, because at that point the stairs were higher than he was tall.
But he had got enough strength, and then that was just a huge confidence boost.
Seeing how happy he was, we knew that he wanted to live with us and our dogs.
There you go.
We decided to give him a DNA test.
It was so hard to tell what kind of dog he was.
Oh my!
Oh my God!
We definitely did not expect the results that we got back, and he is 100% American Bully, and those are big dogs.
So for him to only be five pounds at five months and actually be alive was Absolutely shocking.
Equally as shocking as the fact that we now had an American bully on our hands and not a Chihuahua.
We couldn't be prouder of Drummy, and we are so happy that Drummy is going to be a part of our family and living in our home.
He's literally shivering.
His heart is pumping.
You okay?
Hey, you okay, bud?
He was so completely confused.
I had to literally carry him inside.
We went to the shelter just planning to pick out a foster dog, and we met this adorable husky puppy, friendly, curious, just easy to fall for.
So we assumed he'd get adopted right away and didn't need our help.
So we left without him.
A few weeks later, we went back, and he was still there, shivering alone in his kennel.
He wasn't the same bright, hopeful dog I met before.
It was like he had just given up, and we knew we couldn't leave him again, so we got him out of there.
He left.
He met our dog Roxy, and it went surprisingly well.
He is cute.
When we got him home, his heart was beating so hard.
Give me a drink.
He had no idea where he was.
He was exhausted and clung to us.
For two weeks, he cried in his sleep.
It made me sad to think of whatever his memories might be.
We became determined to give him new, happy memories, and as much love and space as he needed to decompress.
And slowly, everything changed.
He started to understand he was in a good place.
He looked to Roxy to learn how to be a dog, and he did.
We gave him so many firsts: real walks, play sessions, the first time at the beach, and somewhere along the way, I fell completely in love with him.
But I always knew my job was to find him the perfect home.
I have good news and I have bad news.
The good news is that Cooper has found a forever home.
The bad news is that I'm gonna have to let him go.
And when we found his forever family, all the way in Finland, we knew it was exactly where he was meant to be.
Saying goodbye to him was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
I love you.
I know.
I cried harder than I maybe ever have.
Look at you!
Look at you!
But his new family is already so in love with him, and seeing him run, explore, and truly thrive there—there's no better place for a husky like Cooper.
And because of him, we get to keep doing this and help the next dog who needs it.
