Here's what's great and not so great about the Rivian R2.
I personally think it looks pretty nice, so it's very similar to the R1S, but obviously shrunken down.
I think the proportions are really good.
It is almost the exact same size as the Model Y, but because it's more squared off, especially in the back, it feels like there's a little bit more space.
It's also very fast.
So this thing has over 600 horsepower in its launch configuration, over 300 miles of range.
This is good not only on road but also off road.
You also have a neck port, which means you can plug it directly into a Tesla supercharger.
But there are some compromises.
First of all, while it does have Autonomy Plus, it's pretty good, but not as good as Tesla's full self-driving.
It's also a little buggy.
So I've had issues with Bluetooth, which is especially important because this does not have CarPlay or Android Auto.
I don't find that the seats are that comfortable, even though there is a lot of space on the inside.
And I will say that the key fob has been less than completely reliable, which is annoying because it does have pop-out door handles, so you have to wait for it to actually detect the key before the handle comes out.
But when you look at it as an overall package, the R2 feels like it is very similar to the Model Y in a lot of ways, except it's cooler.
Importantly, you're not having to drive a Tesla.
