Translation

The golden rule says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Hey kids, there's also a quote that says, "Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you." When I was in school, I was a pretty good athlete, and when we played games in PE, I always enjoyed playing with the kids who weren't as talented.
Some of my teammates would want to put all the best players on one team and dominate everyone.
I even remember one of my coaches in college being frustrated with me for not trying to win at all costs in a PE flag football game.
But I just didn't think winning that kind of pickup game was the most important thing.
Instead, I enjoyed seeing my classmates do things they would never have seen themselves doing because someone encouraged them to try.
I'm not saying that I was always great at doing this, but when I would make the choice to set aside my ego for the benefit of others, it was always much more rewarding to me than winning.
Because if we really did treat others the way we would like to be treated, the world would be a much better place.
I hope you have a great day, and God bless you.
