The thing about Chucky is, you would just why can't you just kick that doll in the face?
I've never thought like how is Chucky ever scary?
Just kick!
I know he has human strength, but he's the size of a doll, dude.
You are talking about my number two.
Oh shit!
What?
何？
Welcome to Blaze Arcade.
I ain't a hollering a ring around the collar.
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to Blaze Arcade.
Energetic, too coffee.
Greeting this morning.
I'm your host, Aaron Blair.
They call me Blay, which is why this is called Blaze Arcade.
With me, as always, is Andrew Duck, Duck Goose, Bruce.
The name of the show makes sense.
Hell yeah.
Somebody else came up with that.
I can't remember.
It might have been a fan.
So now we're taking fan requests.
If you have things that rhyme with Grues, or you want to rename the show, let us know.
This should be Grues is our kid, and with us is always Eduardo Perez, the real power behind this show.
Oh no, no!
You know what I'm saying?
You are you you you keep us grounded.
You're the tent poles.
Oh wow!
That keep.
I would say I'm the wind trying to destroy this show.
You're the tent poles.
Grues is the wild card.
The wild card.
There's a wild card in everything on a ship.
On a ship.
Well, today I have my work cut out for me because we're talking about again another topic that makes me a little squeamish.
Makes you a little squeamish.
Yeah.
うん。
Today we're talking about.
We're continuing our series, our October Halloween spooky series.
Can I get?
Do you have any reverb in there?
Is there any reverb?
Oh, give me a minute.
That's okay.
Let's go wild card.
shit.
I'll just do it myself.
Ready?
I'll do it in post.
And if you're not watching us on YouTube, please go and watch us on YouTube because you'll be able to hear my awesome.
Eight five five two six six two six zero four.
Today our topic is supernatural horror.
Now, first of all, I said this last week, and I'll say it again this week.
I, shocking to no one, am a huge horror fan.
This is my favorite month.
Halloween is my favorite holiday.
And thank you for letting me take you all on this horror journey all week.
I know Grues and Eduardo, you guys are not giant horror fans.
But you did great last week.
You know, last week we did horror TV shows, the best spooky shows, and you guys came with some bangers.
You know, so I think there's more horror in all of us than we realize.
Like the genre right now is having a moment, obsession, made like billions at the box office.
backrooms made billions.
Resident Evils at Kraker's Resident Evil did really, really well.
It is just destroying and was a really fun movie.
I recently saw an indie movie called It Ends, which is just a bunch of kids that get stuck on a highway that never ends.
Pretty cool, very fun.
And for what it was, it was great.
I mean, you know, going in, it's going to be a small movie, and it's all shot in a car while driving.
Do they they know that it never ends?
They find out very quickly.
Oh, I see.
I'm going to say this: It Ends is a really fun movie, and it's four actors.
If the actors weren't as good, it would not have been a good movie.
They the acting was great, and what I appreciated about it is it really moves very quickly.
Like it it doesn't take half the movie for them to find out that the road goes on forever.
It's like the first five minutes or ten minutes, and then they find out, and then it accelerates from there, which is really great!
It was fun, and like all horror, all the best horror movies, and a lot of the movies we're talking about today, in my opinion, the best horror movies are a metaphor for something.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Like, you know, Get Out is a perfect example.
Great horror movie, you know, and such a great metaphor for for racial discrimination and you know that that sort of thing.
And so, and it ends.
It's such a great metaphor for life, basically.
And so, it's kind of like you realize very quickly, you know, this road they're trapped on that they have to keep going.
It's our lives.
And so, one of the guys basically is like, "I'm done.
I'm I'm tapping out here." And uh, and it's just like life.
It's like some people give up early, some people push to the end, and it's really great.
And they they meet people along the way.
It's really cool.
It's a great movie.
Are you excited for Clayface?
I think we're like a week or two out.
The trailer.
I know you're not a trailer.
Not a trailer guy.
It looks terrifying to me.
Now, I normally would not pick a horror movie to go spend a.
Saturday night watching, but I do love the.
I am intrigued by the superhero aspect world of it.
I really enjoyed Lanterns, so like I'm in that DC universe mindset right now.
So Clayface is kind of intriguing.
I am fully in.
I can't wait to see it.
I think they're you know they're doing a good job with.
I love Patton's Batman is maybe my favorite.
Um and yeah I'm excited to see it.
I'm excited to see it.
Um but anyway supernatural horror today.
Uh and I'm just going to say right off the bat.
Um first of all give us a call eight five five two six six two six zero four or leave us a comment on YouTube of your favorite supernatural horror.
Um and I'm going to say before we get into the arcade rules today.
You know last week I'm trying to bring more people into the tent of horror.
Okay last week you were a nice guy.
Last week I was a nice guy.
I'm also a nice guy this week.
That's not what you said before we went on.
That's true.
I'm I'm very fired up for other personal specifically you came for me.
I came for you.
I said I'm going to light you up.
today.
But I'm not going to let you up today.
That's my off-air persona.
Today on air, I'm welcoming people into the tent, and because I, I unfortunately am cursed
with too much horror knowledge, my goal today is not to be like these are the best; these are my favorites.
Instead, I'm going to try to my top three are ones that I feel like not many people have heard of,
and they're ones I always recommend to people that are off the beaten path, that are
great for one reason or another that I feel like don't get enough love.
So that's kind of my just you guys know today.
I'm not going to go like The Shining, which is incredible and great, and you know I think we can all say that's probably the best.
It's pretty great film.
It's pretty great.
Yeah.
うん。
And but instead, I'm going to kind of try to go off the beaten path today.
So as we always do, what are our arcade rules today?
Now we said supernatural horror.
Yes, and Grease.
I think brought up.
It was either Grease or intern Alex brought up a.
film right before we went on.
I think it was Alex.
It was Alex that brought up a film, and you immediately were like, "Nope." And I think Bruce and I looked at it like, "Wait a minute, why?
" Right, Alex in the corner, who's not allowed on camera.
That's only because we don't have a camera for just to put on.
That's right, exactly.
You are allowed on camera, just I guess not allowed because of our camera situation.
But you said the thing.
Yeah, classic.
A classic, and my favorite movie overall, by the way.
But it's not supernatural horror because it's an alien.
It's it's it's it's hard sci-fi, basically.
Yeah, yeah, I can see that.
There's nothing supernatural about it.
It's an animal that came from another planet that's taking people over.
So you know, it's just like Aliens, the movie.
That's not supernatural, but it's not natural.
It's super.
It's out of this world.
Yeah, well, I guess paranormal is also not normal.
It's out of not being normal, but I think we all.
all understand in the spirit of supernatural what that means.
I'm with you.
I'm with you.
Okay, so no aliens.
No, yeah, that's just a different shot because that's technically, by definition, it's not supernatural.
Right.
Right.
An alien is not supernatural.
Right, because it's existing.
It's just on a different planet.
Correct, but it's not real.
What are you talking about?
Movies are real.
What are you talking about?
Aliens are real.
Oh my god!
This is where we're this is where we're starting today.
Movies are real.
It's a down to this whole.
It's a common refrain of like when we talk about it's a common refrain only in this studio.
It's a common refrain.
That's true.
Very true.
Okay.
I thought we were.
I thought we were big tenting it on Blaze Arcade.
Blaze Arcade
Oh my god!
Oh, guilt trip.
All right, fine.
What are you going to say?
I don't mean to interrupt and scream at you.
No, I'm trying to be a nice guy here, man, Edward.
I'm trying.
I'm trying.
We're trying.
Because aliens aren't real.
Do you give me that premise?
No, no, it's alien stuff.
We won't give you that.
Well, if you don't give me that, like, I don't think I have an alien movie on my list.
Well, then what are we talking about?
I'm supporting an intern.
Jesus Christ!
I'm supporting.
We're going to support our intern today because we are going to.
We have a new segment called Intern Pick.
Intern Pick
Nice, sweet.
So we're starting with Alex.
Intern Pick.
What is your pick for supernatural horror?
And guess what?
Let me just say, Gruze.
He's not going to say the thing because he's not like because he respects because he respects the rules.
That's right.
Well, I respect HR, so I'm going to support whatever pick Alex has, and he can take that as part of
his internship evaluation when he finishes up
here.
So Andrew really did support me this time.
Wow.
Intern movie.
Remember when Goiley asked who's the mole in this?
Yeah, a couple weeks back, we found out.
Okay, Alex.
Wait, wait.
First of all, I'm sorry.
Let's do the arcade rules.
Yeah.
So I, I think arcade rules.
Big tent.
It's just not like slasher, right?
It's not like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not supernatural.
If they have powers that we don't have, if what they do is not natural to this earth, it is a supernatural show.
This earth is an interesting caveat there.
But yes, Dracula is allowed.
You're gonna beat this drum.
My God, we only have an hour.
We only have an hour.
Let's move on.
All right, I think we understand supernatural horror movies.
Please, eight five five two six six two six zero four.
Call in and scream at us for being stupid.
And now our new segment called Intern Pick.
Alex, what's your intern pick for supernatural horror?
Should I say Alien?
Come on, man!
Turn his mic off.
Turn his mic.
No, I want to.
I'll shout out to him.
He's got jokes.
He's got jokes.
What?
何？
Evil Dead.
Evil Dead.
I think.
Amazing.
Sam Raimi's first movie, like super low budget, college kids in the woods.
That's like the best horror premise.
And there's a freaky book and a freaky audio tape.
Yeah.
Don't read it.
Don't listen to that stuff.
Like that's the lesson I learned.
Don't.
Well, don't go into the woods, first of all.
Yeah.
Don't go to the woods.
Yeah.
うん。
Good one.
Yeah.
うん。
Yeah.
うん。
Because the car doesn't work.
The bridge is gone.
The trees are like mystical.
It's a yeah freaky movie.
Lots of blood, but it's a it's a good time and and lesson learned.
Do not do not go on break for a cabin in the woods and read a freaky book.
Great pick.
Good pick.
Also, you know, Sam Raimi, one of my favorite directors.
So and.
one of the very few people who has successfully blended comedy and horror, I think until Katie Dippold,
and and Widows Bay, I don't think there was
such great comedy horror unless
you're talking about Sam Raimi.
I mean, even Drag Me to Hell has funny moments.
Army of Darkness is one of my favorite movies of all time, and that would be considered Evil Dead Three.
And yeah, and also I think he kind of—it's one of the first times I saw like a POV going through the woods, speeded up
kind of thing, where you have the POV of the spirit, like
flying, really cool and great stuff.
And yeah, great, great pick, amazing, amazing.
I love it.
I love it.
Well done.
And that was our new segment called Intern Pick.
All right, so let's let's get into it.
So you know, I said I was going to go with off the beaten path movies, and my
first one is one that is probably pretty much on the path,
but I think most mainstream
people in the world have not seen it.
But if you're a horror fan, you absolutely have seen it, and it's it follows.
It follows.
Have you guys seen that movie?
I've not seen it.
This the one.
It's where boyfriend.
If you sleep with someone, oh, sorry, no, yes.
So so basically, the idea is, oh yeah, it's like an STD.
It's like an STD.
Yeah, yeah.
It's a metaphor for STDs and teenage promiscuity.
That's quite a word to say this early in the morning, and and yeah, it's it's really great, and and I think that you know we talked about last week.
One of the reasons why I like it follows is it's a a inventive premise.
The look is fantastic.
It looks like like a like a like a late '80s movie, but then somebody uses like a weird futuristic cell phone in it, so it's like kind of weirdly timeless.
And just this idea of something always stalking you,
and it's basically the idea is this woman in the very beginning hooks up with the guy, and then she wakes up and she's like tied up in the parking garage.
He goes, "Can you see it?
" And she's like, "What?
" And he's like, "Can you see it?
" And she just sees something a person walking towards her.
And he goes, "This now, now you you've got it, or now it's following you." And he cuts her loose, and then he runs away.
I only vaguely remember.
I didn't watch the movie, but I remember the scene of the guy that just pops out of nowhere.
Oh, dude, was like, yeah, really scary.
And the idea is there's this monster only you can see it.
It can take the form of anyone you know, and it doesn't run after you, but it always walks towards you.
It's so creepy, yeah, yeah.
And and I think we you know we talked about last week.
I get scared in horror movies when the.
the protagonists, do what I would do.
Right.
You know, like if I, but if I can think of something they're not thinking of, I root for them to die.
And and it follows they do everything I would do, and so it's really scary.
And I think it's a fantastic movie.
And again, most people have not seen it.
Please see this movie.
Do you watch horror films through the lens as like a video game player?
Oh, that's interesting.
That's a good question.
In terms of because you know you're you're going yeah side-scrolling video games yeah where you don't know what's coming next, what's waiting for you, and and there's only one way to get over the obstacle.
Yeah, I mean it's it's interesting and like I because there are I do some movies are like video game movies and mostly those are action movies like the raid would be a great example or dread where it's like you're working your way through a building there's like a mini boss or whatever
and yeah horror movies many times I do
movies and TV and books I always kind of treat like video games I think the biggest thing is for me when I'm watching a horror movie it's always like how
does it let you know what it's going to be?
You know, and and you got to get to that quickly.
You know, like let me know what what are we dealing with?
It's an outbreak.
What is it?
Are there zombies?
Like what's going on?
And so that's one thing I liked about the movie.
It ends, and one thing I liked about it follows is that very quickly they get to here's what's up, and then it's fun to explore all that.
Like I know you haven't seen Breaking Bad and you hate it or whatever.
Wait, no, you better call Saul.
That's what you hate.
No, you like Breaking Bad.
We've changed the narrative completely.
Sorry, sorry.
Now you're just off on your own tangent.
I'm sorry, but what I was going to say is what I loved about Breaking Bad is they always would write themselves into the corner.
Yes.
What if Skyler found out?
And then because it's fun to then see what happens.
Ready for another segment?
Yeah.
うん
A recurring segment.
Why break?
Why better call Saul?
It's great.
Yeah.
うん
Because they knew yes where they had to go, but they had no idea how they were going to get from point A to point Z.
Exactly.
その通り
And that's what makes that.
And then we lived in that house, covered up in foil for four hours of a season of eight hours of television, and it drove me insane.
We've wandered into our own horror movie.
But all that to say, I like that.
I like the figuring out.
Yeah.
うん
Get get me to what it is, and then let's watch it unfold.
So it follows fantastic movie.
Please see it.
Groups, what's your number three?
So my number three is, I maybe the most classic horror movie of all time.
Okay.
And scarred me as a child.
Well, and this I'm I know I'm breaking my own rules of dipping before 1995 in my pick in two of my three picks here.
Oh.
おお
And so your own rules that we all disagree with, right?
Yes.
That no one agrees with, which fair.
Uh, it's it's a dumb rule, but it's uh The Exorcist.
Amazing.
You get a kid talking in tongues and joints going in ways that they shouldn't go, and like I am scarred forever.
I gotta say, and one thing I love about The Exorcist, which is the same thing I like about it, follows,
is the fact that Reagan, the kid, is the only person that could see Captain Howdy, which is like the demon Pizzazzo
or whatever,
it's horrifying.
Like the like that's scary to be like I'm the only person that could see this thing is really freaky.
Now I think that one was so scary I never dip back into the Exorcism franchise and and I don't even actually know how many they've made or reboots and remakes
because I think that first one '73 I believe is so classic that I mean it's the pinnacle for me.
Dude, when she comes in, they're having that party that the parents are having this party, and she comes in.
She it's a one of the and there's an astronaut at this party, and she comes in.
She just goes, "You're going to die up there." Then just start just wets herself.
That's Horrifying.
Yeah, they re-released that in the theater many years ago, and I saw it, and it was so scary.
Exorcist Three is on my honorable mentions list for one of my favorite movies of all time.
Okay, it's so great, and those who have seen it know about the shears.
There are these like there's a shears scene that's one of the scariest things.
But Exorcist, it's hard to get better than that.
I mean, what a classic!
Awesome.
Yeah.
うん。
So to piggyback on your experience watching The Exorcist and how that led to your almost non-existent right horror.
My library is not deep as a result of the same.
My number three, number two movie happened to me.
It's kind of like the inverted Grues.
Where any when it comes to horror, any film that was made before 1995 and was great.
Made it so that I never wanted to watch horror ever after 1995.
Wow!
And The Exorcist was on that list.
Honorable mentions: Candyman, which I talked about.
Candyman, so good with Sona.
Yeah, watched it way too young.
Poltergeist.
Not to step on callers, please call in with why you love these movies, but um, but my number.
So because of that, my three top movies in this genre are more modern.
Awesome movies.
Um, this one feels like a cheat, but I'm going to take advantage of nice play and say Constantine is my number three.
Okay.
Favorite horror.
Okay.
Film.
映画。
I know it's not traditional horror because it has basically superhero.
Yeah.
うん。
Origins, although there are spooky parts in that.
You know, when he that guy goes in and he keeps drinking all that stuff and it's like going through him, right?
And he's like panicking.
Yeah.
うん。
There are.
What's exorcism?
It's exorcism.
Yeah.
うん。
I mean, he's being another version of it.
Yeah.
うん。
So um, yeah.
that film.
Gavin Rossdale's great, great in it.
Yeah, I was bored of this.
Yeah, like he's so that that's one of you know movies we should do.
We we should do a an episode on movies we wish there were sequels because that is very high up on the list.
Love it.
Rachel Rachel Weisz was great in that.
Great, obviously, Count Reeves.
The the entire cast.
My it's Tilda Swinton.
Yeah, my it's my favorite depiction of the devil.
Devil.
Yes, we've talked about this.
I agree.
It's it's Peter Stormare.
Amazing, incredible performance.
Yeah, that that and Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy are my two favorite devil devil depictions.
Yeah, dude, banger.
Yeah, great.
Yeah, no, absolutely, absolutely.
I love it.
That's fantastic.
And and also, like you know, you mentioned Poltergeist.
Poltergeist two for me is one of the movies that scarred me as a kid, and it and it made me scared because of all the mirror stuff.
Yeah, it made me horrified by mirrors.
Like I don't have a mirror in my bedroom because of Poltergeist two.
Yeah, like.
I don't have a mirror in my bathroom because of Candyman.
Yeah, but Candyman, same thing.
It's like, dude, I don't understand why you put a ghost portal close to your bed where a ghost could just reach out and grab you.
What are you doing?
If you got a mirror within arms length of your bed, you're a fool.
Ghosts just reaching right out and grabbing you, dude.
What are you doing?
You ever seen a movie?
It's crazy.
It's crazy talk.
Yeah, I love that.
And and Extras has Constantine, great.
And one of the things is like one of the reasons why I love horror is because it blends so well with other genres.
It blends well with superheroes.
It blends well with comedy.
It blends well with mystery.
Yeah, I mean, you could say True Detective season one is horror.
I mean, very horror based, especially the finale.
Yeah, like Carcosa.
Seven has seven horror.
Absolutely.
I mean, it it just to me horror is like it is really just an ingredient that makes kind of everything everything better.
Um, but yeah, and also the the best.
So my favorite comedies are the worst horror movies.
watch a bad horror movie.
It's great, Chuckie.
Would you say Chuckie isn't that?
I don't.
いや。
I don't know.
Oh, for sure.
But it's.
I mean, dude, it's funny.
It's funny.
I.
俺。
The thing about Chuckie is, you would just why can't you just kick that doll in the face?
I've never thought.
Like, how is Chuckie ever scary?
Just kick.
I know he has human strength, but he's this size of a doll, dude.
You are talking about my number two.
Oh shoot!
I did have.
I did have Child's Play as my number two.
What?
何？
Never saw that.
Scary.
Never saw that.
Horrific.
As a kid to watch Chuckie.
Oh, this doll can go nuts and murder everybody.
Like that is terrifying.
After you've seen the Poltergeist, though, Chuckie's funny.
Chuckie's hilarious.
You know, like, but like first introduction to horror, like as a child.
I guess as a child.
How old?
How old were you?
How old?
I mean, I think the movie came out in '88, and I must have seen it early '32.
So I would have been like seven, eight years old.
Okay, that's scary.
It's scary because if you're closer to the size of Chucky, it's scary.
I was never that small, but it is a.
You didn't think as a kid you could just kick that stupid doll in the face?
I'm terrified of gremlins, like all these small little things.
So, Lepercon?
Oh, I mean, I would not watch that movie.
For a hundred percent, not watching that.
Also, kind of a funny movie.
It's a hilarious movie, but yeah, Child's Play was my number two.
Wow, that's.
I mean, the thing is, dolls are kind of freaky.
But even the Chucky doll isn't scary.
Dolls are can be freaky.
Dolls are freaky.
Yeah, the overall.
I mean, it's a freaky doll.
The doll looks like funny.
You know, yeah, but he's evil.
So then, the like erases all the funny parts about it.
I I am terrified.
Erases all the funny parts about it is generous.
I will say I've got a one of my favorite stories is you know we used to when we did the Conan show on TBS.
We were on the Warner Brothers lot, and you know every day I'd go to Starbucks.
I love me coffee, and you know the Warner Brothers lot was cool because you have all these different movies happening and all these different things.
And one day I went to Starbucks, and they had the real Annabelle doll from like I think the Conjuring movies.
Like, and you're like, hey, do you want a photo with Annabelle?
And I was like, I'm good.
And I went and I got my coffee, and you know I always get my coffee black, like my heart, no sweetener, light ice, right?
I get my coffee.
I come back out, and the person's there.
They're like, you sure you don't want to, you know, Annabelle or whatever?
And I was like, I don't think so, dude.
And they're like, and my friend who I was with, I was, he was like, dude, you know, she's gonna curse you, man.
You got to be careful.
And I was like, oh, she's gonna curse me?
Oh no!
Oh goodness!
I was like, you know what?
I will get a picture with this stupid doll.
And like, I take a knee, and I get a photo.
I'm looking, look, like all hard with my coffee.
And the guy was like, "Okay," and my friend's like, "Dude, you're she's gonna curse you." And I was like, "She's not gonna curse you.
She's a doll.
It's a prof from a movie." And we're walking away, and I take a sip of my coffee, and it had sweetener in it.
Oh, she got you.
Maybe she cursed me, dude.
Maybe she cursed me.
After all, I wish that I had.
I wish that I had taken a sip of that coffee to know if Starbucks had messed up my order or if Annabelle actually did curse me.
You who knows, dude?
Who knows?
You just made me remember Slappy the Dummy from Goosebumps, that did freak me out in the '90s.
I don't know if you ever saw Slappy the Dummy.
No, did you?
I remember.
I remember Homie the Clown.
Yeah, this was.
You remember Homie the Clown?
We don't play that.
Yeah, this was Slappy the Dummy.
Well, ventriloquist dummies are a whole other.
That's a freaky.
That freaks me out more than more than Chucky.
I don't need that.
That's a freaky.
I mean, it's freaky, but Chucky, man, pinnacle of freakiness.
I mean, interesting.
All right, interesting.
I mean, ventriloquist dummies are a level scarier.
Yeah, I would agree.
Because they're like, how did God?
You know, they're just horrifying.
Generally, and when they start talking without
that, without you know, exactly the person next to them, their eyes like move around, and like, and they do like do the thing where they just rotate their head and they can rotate all the way around.
It's freaky, man.
Freaky.
Terrible.
We do have we do have a bunch of callers.
All right, let's get some callers.
So let's go to before we get year number two's Blaine Eduardo.
Let's go to Brandon in Houston first.
Hey, Brandon, what's up?
We're talking supernatural horror today, and I'm being a nice guy and not a not a dick about what constitutes supernatural horror.
What do you got for us today?
Uh, going with my top pick is a fan's house.
Oh, Phantasm!
Oh, I love that dude.
That was a movie I saw way too young.
And Angus Scrim, the main guy in Phantasm, I feel like I had his haircut from like three to six years old.
I had the Angus Scrim haircut, and if you put me in a suit, I was very tall, so I would have been been yeah the tall man.
That's a that's one of those movies where so Phantasm is a movie from the '80s
with all these silver balls that have like knives that come out of them, and it takes place in a small town.
Yeah, and it is if I remember correctly, Brandon, the tall the tall man is like stealing people's souls to put them into these metal balls.
Is that right?
No, he uh, he takes fresh quartz lead, ah, and he
puts them into this uh
compactor and turns them into little demons, or that's right, and attempt to take over the, in an attempt to take over the world.
Yes, and you know what?
Kind of like a Mortician, right?
Uh, but not.
Yes, yes, and it's so funny because it's like,
you know, I was watching that movie as a kid, and I was like, oh my god, it's so scary, and and then you kind of step back and you're like, man, this guy is terrible at taking over the world.
Like he started like a small town, and like basically a couple guys were able to just take him out.
I do, I do remember a a thirteen year old kid and his brother, yeah, exactly, brother, take him out.
I do.
Brandon, did they have?
I do remember they had like a triple shotgun, or maybe it was fantastic.
Yeah, they got.
It might have been one of the sequels.
They made like five movies altogether.
A few years ago, to be in a fox set that came with a little, a life-size plastic version of the the metal spear with a blade sticking out of it.
Awesome!
最高！
Yeah, awesome.
That's just what a great pick because that's one of those movies where you're like, how a how did this get made?
But b it was just iconic back in the day, man.
I love it, dude.
Yeah, man.
Hell yeah, man.
You know?
Yeah, yeah, exactly, dude.
Great pick, Brandon.
Thanks for calling, man.
Oh man, unlocked a unlocked a core memory of my childhood.
I love that.
That's awesome.
Let's go to Cliff in Fresno.
What's up, Cliff?
How we doing?
We're talking supernatural horror movies today.
What do you got for us?
Okay, take this for what is Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock.
Okay, question is: Was he possessed?
Was he he could?
Was he was he mentally ill, or was he possessed by his mother?
That's a great.
If you ask me, if you ask me, mentally ill.
If you ask him, possessed by the spirit of his mother.
His defense in the court of law.
He's going to say he was possessed.
You know what, Cliff?
You know what's amazing to me about Psycho is that was the first movie where they had movie times.
Before that, movies would just play all day, and you would just go to see them and sit down in the movie and just watch wherever it was.
Oh, you mean it was like a point?
It was pointment viewing.
Alfred Hitchcock made a point made movie times happen because
in the beginning of that movie, you think the protagonist is I think Janet Lee is that who it is?
Who's who's the main character?
Yeah, yeah, I believe.
And Janet Lee, and she gets killed.
Spoiler alert!
And it was shocking to people.
And he didn't want people coming in late to the movie because Norman Bates is the real protagonist of that movie.
And so Janet Lee.
So that was a very because he wanted that shock to happen.
So we have Psycho to thank for many times.
Isn't that cool, Cliff?
Why do you like Psycho?
I don't know.
It's just classic, right?
Because it's all about the suspense.
Yeah.
うん。
And you don't have to.
You don't ever really see the shout.
You don't see the murder.
Right.
And then you know you see him dressed as his mother, but he keeps his mother the corpse or corpse.
And if you see the sequel, the sequels are.
Not that great, but the last
one—I don't know if you've seen it—where he ends up getting arrested, comes out of prison, he gets arrested, and when he's arrested again, he takes his mother's
hand with him.
It's taxidermy mother's hand, but in the prison.
Love it.
I love.
I love prison officials just let him take a taxidermy hand, unless you know what he played it where the sun don't shine.
Maybe, maybe smuggled it.
You know, in in nature's pocket, as they say.
Nobody says that.
Thank you for calling, Cleve.
I love Psycho.
What a what a classic, a classic.
And by the way, that and Jaws, the two most recognizable sound effects in all of cinema.
I'm glad you brought up Jaws because I had wondered coming into this today before the rules were explained if that was going to be considered a horror supernatural film.
No, just an angry shark.
Okay, just an angry shark.
Which you know, it's I get it.
That's a genre.
Yeah, they're wet all the time.
It's a genre now.
It's a genre.
Yeah, Meg.
Yeah, you're right.
That Blake Lively movie where she's stuck on a rock, yeah.
Deep blue sea, yeah.
Fantastic.
All right, I thank you for calling, Cliff.
That's fantastic.
You want to take one more call?
Yeah, let's go to Roy in Texas.
All right, hey Roy, what's up?
We're talking supernatural horror.
What do you got for us today?
So I was thinking back to 1992.
I'm like nine years old, and I'm kind of a gap youngest kid.
Like they're all quite a bit older than me.
Okay.
My brothers and sisters, and I remember getting dragged to a movie.
I was way too young to be at Candyman.
Oh, yeah, love it, love it.
That dude, that movie, that and Poltergeist too, made me scared.
Well, and my how I look as a person made me scared of mirrors for sure.
That's incredible.
Exactly.
So scared.
Makes you scared of a totally inanimate object.
Yeah.
And scared of bees.
Scared?
That's right.
That's right.
It did for it did for bees what Jaws did for sharks.
Between this movie and what was it, My Girl?
With oh yeah, I was terrified of bees as a kid, because of Candyman and My Girl, but sorry, didn't mean to step on you.
Go ahead, tell us why you love this movie.
No, but conversely, like lifelong Tony Todd fan now.
Nice, absolutely.
That guy, man.
Candyman.
All right, P.
さあ、P。
That guy was incredible, and Candyman is one of those movies too, where you know they they remade it and it's it's still great, and it's one of those things where it's kind of like I can't believe it's not bigger.
Yeah, it is because it still is weirdly niche.
Yeah, and I don't know why.
Yeah, the guy who answered the phone was like, "I'm not familiar with that," and I was like, "What?
" Yeah, it's great.
Alex, Alex likes to watch Candyman.
Twenty years old.
Yeah, it's true.
It's a classic.
That's classic.
Thank you for calling.
Man, working at college.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, wait, you work at a college?
Yeah.
What What are the kids like now?
Like, what What are the big horror movies now?
Ah, they don't like.
I I had one.
We've got a corn maze going on for Halloween, and I was like, "Do you all go watch a scary movie before the corn maze?
" Because that was like our thing, and they were like, "Absolutely not." I think I think they're too scared.
They're too scared now.
No, we've got a generation of cowards.
We gotta we gotta tough toughen them up by watch making them watch Candyman.
That's what I say.
We need a we need that generation.
Brothers and sisters didn't do them right.
That's right, exactly.
We got to make them fear mirrors like we were scared of mirrors.
Thanks for calling, Roy.
Have a great day.
Mirrors and dolls.
Right, that's right.
Mirrors and dolls.
That's right.
We have to scar them like we were.
Pass on the generational trauma.
My number two, another movie.
A lot of people have not heard of, and another movie I recommend all the time.
We've talked about it on this program before.
It's Saint Maud.
It's about a young woman who's a Welsh woman, and man, this actress is absolutely incredible.
And it's a the story a very small, simple idea done well, and we've always said on this program there's nothing better in entertainment than a simple idea
executed well.
And the idea is, it is a woman who's very religious, a young woman I want to say in like her late 20s,
and she is a caregiver, and she used to be a nurse, and kind of something bad happened.
She went through kind of a bad experience, and now she is a caregiver for this woman who is kind of a dancer, or used to be a dancer, and is kind of
sexually free.
And Maud, the main character, this young woman, is very kind of religious.
She's very repressed, and this this dancer, this kind of older woman, is trying to kind of coax Maud out of her shell.
And Maud starts to think
that this woman starts to suspect this woman might be possessed, and
Like it's re and there's really crazy moments where we don't know as the audience is Maud crazy is this woman possessed
and the
ending of this movie is unbelievably great
and it sticks the landing so hard.
What year did this film come?
It's not that old.
I want to say maybe in the past five years.
Oh wow!
It's really really great.
If you and it's a banger and it's just a small, like very tightly written, really well acted movie.
Really scared the crap out of me.
Wow!
It's really really great and again has has some very a great depiction of either a demon or the devil or whatever you want.
One of my favorites.
So Saint Maud and Maud spelled M A U D with no E in.
Ah, so that is my number two.
Your number two is Chucky.
Yes, child's play.
Child's play.
Yes, sorry.
And Eduardo, what's your number two?
So I went super modern with this one.
Hell yeah!
Recency bias and it's centered.
Oh, nice!
I love that's what we're asking about vampires.
That's right.
I love it.
Oh, vampires absolutely supernatural.
Yeah, especially in that especially in that context because there's all these rules that the vampires have to follow.
And I love.
I really loved.
Well, why did you love sinners?
I mean, I mean, where do you start?
You know, I'm I'm a big performance guy, so the the acting in this movie was great.
Michael B.
Jordan playing two the twins basically was awesome.
And you felt and they you felt like they're different people.
Yeah, exactly.
The era that it took place in was great.
It looked great.
The soundtrack, I you know, can go on and on with the the role that music played in this film.
The commentary, yeah, it's kind of like Get Out, you know, in that sense.
Absolutely, I love Michael.
I'm sorry, Ryan Coogler.
So yeah, and and and yeah, that movie is an absolute banger.
And and one thing I I really loved about that movie I think is like like you alluded to them taking idea of
invitation, yeah, you know, and on my honorable
mentions is another vampire movie, "Let the Right One In," not the American remake, but but also kind of about vampire
and and in terms of dealing with, you have to invite them into your home for them to be able to come in.
Right.
And the metaphor, like we were talking earlier, what an incredible metaphor of how you know how
black music was stolen culture and culture, you know, and culture was was taken in that
way.
方法。
And like, hey, let us in, let us in, you know, and then being stolen.
And I also loved in that movie the very end of it, how you know the the kind of Irish bad guy says,
played by Jack O'Connell, by the way, great, also great in Twenty Eight Years Later.
That's right, really great.
And how
he says, you know, our Irish heritage was stolen, you know, by like, and and it's just you see this like this you know repeating.
throughout history of one culture stealing another's culture and and and all that stuff and yeah Sinners is so great I really wanted
and still want like a prequel with with Smokin' Stack with Michael B Jordan's characters because I was just like dude this movie is great with no superlatives
even when they're just putting together like we're gonna get a juke going I was like I'm fully on board for this yeah they're very industrious it's like I want to see more of their
the
その
history and their history in Chicago yeah exactly like what did they do yeah it's like Smugglers how did they make all this money and like
what in the war I love how one of the characters can't light his own cigarette because he he's got a tremor from fighting in the war
that stuff was so cool to me and those characters are so well written so well acted so yeah Sinners is incredible great and gorgeous man they're driving through the cotton fields yes oh
my I mean the music yes the music is in it Delroy
Lindo is great
crazy that dude Salt Williams is in the film yeah Salt Williams great great fantastic I love it and I have to also kind of a shout out.
You know, one of my favorite things about Sinners is, and this is, I guess, a minor spoiler, but at the very end, it kind of flashes forward to present time.
That's the only thing I didn't love.
Okay, but I, I, I, I, because I do love the idea of these creatures having been around forever.
Right, right, right, right.
And I thought it was kind of a cool idea.
And I just finished this game, this vampire game called Blood of Don Walker.
Great game, not scary at all.
Gurus is laughing.
It's really fun.
Blood of Don.
Yeah.
うん。
Terrible name.
Terrible name.
I kept saying Dawn of Blood Walker, whatever.
But at the very end, so you play this vampire character in the 1300s during the Black Plague.
At the very end, after the credits, there's a scene where it it goes into the future, so like a cyberpunk, and you're still this vampire fighting this thing.
And I was like, whoa, vampire in cyberpunk land is cool because these guys who did Blood of Don Walker, CD Projekt Red, their last game was Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven.
Yeah, so it's cool they put a vampire into that world.
It's very cool.
So I do, I do love that.
I do love that idea generally, and also I just a shout out.
I would like to see more Western horror, yeah, like in taking place in the Wild West.
These ideas that, as I was looking through like different lists, I have not seen Bone Tomahawk.
Okay.
Conan, I feel like I've heard a ton about that movie.
Conan, you should talk to Conan about that movie.
He loves that movie.
Really loves it.
Like he's like, you guys got to see this.
I was like, dude, I saw that.
It was awesome.
Kurt Russell.
Yeah, it's great.
It's got Matthew Fox is in it.
It's great.
It's not.
It's horror, but it's not really like supernatural horror.
You think it kind of is, but it ends up just being like a bunch of messed up people doing messed up things.
I mean, that's where I have like sinners.
I don't think of it as like the jump scare horror.
It's creepy, right?
It's creepy.
It's yeah.
It's interesting.
The one thing I didn't like about sinners was, you know.
we talk about do people do what I would do, right?
And all you got to do to beat the vampires is just not invite them in and just stay in the building until dawn.
But one of the women is like, "Come on in, you bastards!
" And then of course they come in.
And I was like, "What are you doing?
What are you doing?
Just, just chill out." But there's always one idiot.
There's always one idiot, and that's true.
That's true.
That's pretty realistic.
That's true.
You are correct.
There is always an idiot.
Who's that on this show?
It's me.
It's me.
I'm the idiot.
More?
Should we take some more calls?
Yeah, let's take some more calls.
Let's go to Kevin in North Carolina.
Hey, Kevin, what's up?
We're talking supernatural horror today.
What do you got for us?
I tell you what, dude.
One of the freakiest women I have seen in a movie that just tripped me out was the little old lady in Drag Me to Hell.
Yeah, dude, so so scary.
I love that.
You know the lady I'm talking about?
Of course.
I can't.
Yeah, she's great.
She's got her teeth out and all that nasty.
Oh gosh, isn't that?
I know.
It was horrifying, dude.
I love.
I absolutely love it.
And again, one of my big pet peeves is when people or directors use old people as just like, oh, aren't old people gross?
But this woman was gross and scary.
Like, so what's just she was the epitome.
I'd rather run into Jason, any of Michael Myers, truly that creepy little old freaking nasty lady.
No, it looks like a witch.
Yeah, no.
It's funny, you know, the story about Drag Me to Hell was Sam Raimi was creating a production company.
I don't know if this is true or not, and and he's like a horror production company.
He's like, yo, I'm going to show you guys how to do it right, and then he made this movie just to be like, "This is the kind of movie we're making." It's great, dude.
I like.
Expected it to suck, yeah.
Just because it's a name, he figured it would be some low budget crap.
Yeah.
うん。
No, it was.
It absolutely was not, dude.
How about that ending?
Great.
Oh, good grief, man!
I'm telling you, great, dude.
Love it.
Best all I ever seen, dude.
I love it, dude.
Kevin, what a great pick, man!
I love it.
Fantastic.
That lady.
Y'all have a good day, bro.
You too, dude.
See ya.
And I, I had blocked her out of my memory, and now she's back.
I love it.
That's great.
Let's go to Scott in Syracuse.
Hey, Scott, what's up?
We're talking supernatural horror.
What do you got?
Love it, love it, yeah, guys.
So, shout out to Exorcist three.
Yes, Exorcist is great.
Yes, George C.
Scott.
That one scene where that lady comes out of the hospital room with the scissors, dude.
I know.
It scares me.
It's it's one of the scariest scenes in all of cinema.
No, thank you.
Yeah, exactly.
Dude, you think she's crawling on the ceiling?
I know.
But there's a lot of movies like like I grew up in the you know watching 70s 80s movies.
Carrie, yeah, scared Jessica to death.
Hell yeah, offerings, the fog.
But I got to tell you, The Conjuring was really good.
Okay, one of the ones that I really like.
I know I'm shooting a bunch at you.
Paranormal Activity should not be discounted as a great horror film.
I agree.
I agree, dude.
I agree.
I feel footage.
Yeah, yeah.
I feel about Paranormal Activity the same way I feel about Saw.
The first entry is so good and groundbreaking.
Like, oh my god, so scary, so great.
And then you know they they do kind of get worse as it goes on.
But man, yeah, and but it's it's a bummer because the first one is just an absolute crown jewel of horror, and there's a reason they made so many.
The first Fast and Furious, the first one, great.
Why why the shot?
I'm being nice and adorable.
I mean, this is why the shot is critical.
Scott, what do you what did you think about uh like you are such a big horror fan?
What are your thoughts on Obsession?
Did you see Obsession?
I did, yes.
I I I thought that was one of the best, like one of the better modern horror film original.
Yeah.
うん。
Um,
I mean, just little subtle things that happened where you know when he made the wish in the car, yes, and then she was that she was at the front door, but it was just kind of like a yes quick glimpse
or the one scene where he walked into the room and she was kind of like like her
she was walking, but it was like broken steps.
Yes, it was only for what second, but like that stuff just is spine tingling.
Yeah, with they just well that they played that footage backwards very quickly, so she looked.
a little weird, or you know, yeah, yeah, in that way, yeah.
Which is great.
Also, you know, one thing, one thing, and as a big horror fan, I think you'll appreciate this.
One thing I really loved about Obsession was it kind of was very self-aware with what horror movies would always do.
So, like when he calls about the wish, right?
He calls the number on the box.
You always in another horror movie, it would be like disconnected or whatever.
But a dude answers, and it's him, by the way.
It's Carrie Barker, and he just goes, "Hey, what's up, man?
" And you're like, "What?
What's happening?
" He's like, "Hey, the wish is yeah, can't can't do that, dude." And then he's like, "What?
" And and then just when you think it's kind of normal, he goes, "And and he's like, 'Do you want to do you want to talk to her?
'" And he goes, "What?
" And then it he's like, "Here she is," and it's just her screaming nonstop.
That scared the crap out of me.
I love stuff like that.
It it's the way they do it, like like you said it earlier, like you put yourself in like what you would do in these situations.
Yes, like like yeah, yeah, you just kick the doll in child's play.
Yeah, it's done.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
But that you're like, man, there.
was no way this guy could get out of any of this.
Agreed.
He went back to buy another wish.
He went back to buy another wish.
He did everything that that we would do, man.
Awesome, Scott.
Thanks for calling, man.
I love that.
Great pick.
Thanks, guys.
Exorcist three, one of the scariest movies I've ever seen in my life.
It's a banger.
All right, let's quickly go through our number ones.
My number one is a movie I recommend to everyone.
It is a movie that takes place in the woods, and it
is a movie that,
again, they do everything I would do in this movie.
It's called The Ritual, and it is about a a couple of friends.
One of their friends dies, and so these other kind, these other guys, these four other guys, go into the woods, take this hike
to kind of memorialize him, and
they surprisingly get lost in the woods, and there's something in the woods kind of hunting them.
It is fantastic.
It's a metaphor for grief.
and how to grieve, and which
is why again it it makes it such a powerful movie because it's kind of these guys grieving in different ways, and they do everything I would do, and
it has one of my favorite lines in all of movies that I think about a lot,
which is so the one guy kind of hurts his ankle,
doesn't kind of twist his ankle, and they want to get back to this this camp or whatever, and they could go around this these woods, or they could take a shortcut, right?
And he goes, well, let's take the shortcut, and the guy goes, he goes, he goes, no, he's like the shortcut, he goes, what?
It's he says something to the effect of.
If the shortcut was shorter than the path, it would be the path, which is true.
True, and I think about that in my daily life.
I'm like, if the shortcut was faster, that would just be the way everyone goes.
But then they take the shortcut, and of course, yeah, it's.
But it's it's a fantastic movie.
Also, the creature design, I think, in that movie is maybe my favorite creature design of anything I've ever seen.
It always kind of keeps your under toes.
Bruce is looking at a screen.
I believe your mouth is open.
I believe the line is, "My old scoutmaster used to say, if the shortcut was a shortcut, it wouldn't be called a shortcut.
It would be called a route." Okay, there we go.
Yeah, that's it.
That's it.
それです
Not as good as what I said, but I want to be.
Your version is better.
Yeah, I'm perfect.
Your version, but all that to say, a fantastic movie, really well acted, incredible, and just a simple idea done well.
Right, guys in the woods
being hunted try to escape,
and it just as as the movie keeps going on and things start closing in and it starts heightening in unexpected ways that truly.
creep me the hell out.
The ritual, my number one thing, Goose.
So I think mine is not a simple idea.
Okay.
It was something that I probably ruined this movie for.
I I saw this movie.
Was working on another radio show.
They knew I am very jump scary, and so we went to a screening.
Okay.
Of this movie, and it wasn't just like the radio show I was on.
It was like thirty people in Beverly Hills saw this screening.
That is a horror movie.
And thirty people in Beverly Hills.
Yes.
そう。
And the amount of times I just yelled curse words out in the middle of this screening
because of the not only a number of jump scares, but then it just got crazy at the end.
And so this was Hereditary.
Okay.
And the the loudness with which I yelled F when the girl lost her head.
Yeah.
うん。
Hey, I mean, everybody turned and looked at me like, "What are you doing?
" And then for the movie to get to the point where there are adults crawling on the ceiling, and people on fire.
Sure, I like this movie.
I mean, I don't think I've seen a scary, like a horror movie since.
It scarred me so badly.
Okay, now I'm I'm a nice guy today.
Oh no, I'm a nice guy today.
I will say that's a great pick.
People love Hereditary.
I personally, people love Hereditary and love Midsummer, and are like these are the scariest movies I've ever seen.
I think that Ari Aster, the writer director,
I I don't think those movies are scary because I think well, here's why because I think he's really good at grief.
He's almost too good at grief, and so those movies, in contrast to me, lose their scariness.
I'm going to give you the two examples: Hereditary, the light pole scene, right?
The light pole scene and what happens right after the light pole scene
is so is a real thing that could happen,
and you see characters going through it, and it's so terrifying that it makes the end of Hereditary
seem goofy to me in comparison.
Because then I start being like, "Who lit all these candles?
Did the demon light all these candles?
" When when she comes downstairs, like, "Who put on just enough light to make it spooky?
" Oh, her her job is like she's an artist that makes little scary miniatures.
It it just puts into contrast, just makes it goofy to me.
Same thing with Midsummer.
Midsummer kind of starts with like a double suicide,
and that is horrific, so horrific that the rest of it feels like, oh yeah, you got to call.
Like, all right, like because the beginning is things that is something that could and does happen.
So the real, do you know what I'm saying?
The realness of the grief.
Yes, contrasted with the somewhat in your mind.
of the supernatural.
It just made it made me realize.
Oh right, in life, people go through these terrible things,
and there's no demon that's going to be scarier than like than losing a loved one.
That like, and so that to me, it like really takes me out of it.
And I don't.
And Ari Aster is a great filmmaker.
I just think it's like he's he he's too good at doing those things, and so that's why those movies to me get it takes me out of it.
Does that make sense?
Interesting.
Yeah.
うん。
And so I appreciate people like Hereditary, Midsummer, but that's why those movies don't scare me.
Right.
What I just heard was between your number two and your number one pick, Blade thinks you're a little bitch.
Still, I think nice.
I can't believe this.
How I heard this is like you know what's interesting is like today is like we're all on like a raft in the water, and I have like lessened my load, so Eduardo's
going heavier, so we can all still stay afloat.
Interpreted.
I'm just taking it all.
I love this.
Wow.
But no, great pick.
A lot of people love Hereditary.
beautifully shot.
Tony Collette's incredible.
I will say that shot where she sees her mother in the darkness, which was put in Obsession as an homage, really scary.
Like just in the just the darkness, you can just see your mother.
I mean, I just freeze, just yelling F, yeah, F, like what?
What are we watching?
And like everyone's like, we're here at a screening.
What are you doing, dude?
Why do you have your pants off?
What's going on?
Crazy.
When I get scared, I get naked.
I don't know what to say.
I'm sorry, Sony.
I'm sorry, Sony.
I love it.
Number one.
All right, number one for me.
I've talked about this movie before.
I think you're a fan of it.
It's not traditional horror, or maybe it is.
It's M Night directed.
Okay, and Split.
Split.
Wow, great.
Is it supernatural?
The Beast.
But is the personality that's not real?
How does how does it become a beast?
No, I mean he actually becomes a beast.
Well, that's true.
But doesn't doesn't he?
Isn't it because he unlocks stuff in his brain?
You know what I'm gonna ask guy today.
That's right.
That's great.
And James McAvoy, that Split is an incredible movie.
Incredible.
And all James McAvoy and Anya Taylor Anya Taylor Joy Anya Taylor Joy really great.
Um, yeah, awesome.
I mean, man, it's just he is so great in that.
But it's more psychological, right?
Um, I would.
I'm being nice.
You think it's psychological?
I'm being nice.
It's a great movie.
I mean, the same with The Lost Boys.
The Lost Boys is psychological.
I wouldn't think it's Avengers.
But all that The Lost Boys is not psychological.
It is, but it's also more supernatural.
We're being nice today.
All right.
よし。
Split is great, and this is why I asked the rules.
I'm just playing by the rules.
Today's rules allowed for this.
So Split, uh, really got me good.
Uh, in many ways, and part of it was the unpredictability of it.
Like my brain.
unfortunately ruins movies for me because I'm always like, "Well, this is probably going to happen." Right.
But in Split, I didn't know it was going to happen, and it very easily the movie could end good or could end bad.
Right.
If you haven't seen it, I'm not going to say which it is.
But at every single turn, I was fully engrossed in that movie.
And I think one of the best, one of the best compliments you can give a movie or any piece of art is, it feels short.
And that movie, that was just flew by, dude.
I was fully locked into that movie.
Um, and it's great, all time great performance by James McAvoy.
All time great performance.
Also, there's this, there's that one scene where I don't want to give anything away, but
And and M9 Shyamalan,
for whatever you think about him and his movies and all this stuff, he does really have a great sense of
visuals that last.
Yeah.
うん。
And there's that one thing where
a person opens the door to escape, and you just see a slow mo of the handkerchief falling down, and that's such like a beautiful shot.
And he took the time to put that shot in at a moment that was very crazy and scary, and things are and all of a sudden, and it made it worse.
Yeah.
うん。
It made it scarier.
So yeah, great, great pick.
Can I just point out, you did raise the issue you have with movies.
Is your like logical brain is like, oh, this, why did this happen?
Why this is this can't take place?
And my whole thing has been
stuff that's real or not about movies, and you've
critiqued that and laughed at it for months now,
and you're just saying your brain ruins movies much in the same way.
If I'm like, it's not real.
I know, and that's why I'm trying to help.
Oh, would you look at that!
I'm running out of time.
I'm trying to help you.
I'm trying to help you.
I'm trying to help you.
I'm trying to.
You know what?
I'm going to be nice guy more often.
I'm sorry, I do that.
My public apology.
No, no, no.
I am sorry.
No, you have to end the apology.
I'm not.
Not today.
I'm a nice guy.
Before we go, I got to read my list of honorable mentions, which is very long.
Here we go.
Let's go through it.
In the Mouth of Madness by John Carpenter.

Great, maybe one of the best endings of any horror movie I've ever seen.
Poltergeist II, we talked about.
Quaiden, a four Japanese ghost stories in a row.
It's like four hours long.

It's really scary and great and really well shot.
Of course, let the right one in.
We talked about the autopsy of Jane Doe, last the last exorcism, and the exorcism of Emily Rose.
all fantastic possession movies that don't get enough love, and then of course Jacob's Ladder, one of my favorite movies of all time, and super freaky.
Tim Robbins as a guy who's trying to figure out what happened to him and his army buddies, and makes me think about life in a different way.
