So I spent eight years in total in medical training to be a doctor, and then I decided to quit.

So it was six years of medical school, and then two years working full time in the NHS, including during the pandemic.

And then because my YouTube channel and my online business was taking off, I decided to quit medicine.

Now at the time, a bunch of my friends and a lot of my family members were super super concerned about this because they were like, Oh my god, you're sacrificing this like very stable, very prestigious thing.

You know, you'll have a job forever if you stay in medicine.

What if you fail, etc, etc.

Around that time, I came across Jeff Bezos' regret minimization framework, which is basically the idea of like you know make the decision that you're less likely to regret.

Because the thing is with medicine is that you can always go back to it.

Like even now, even though I've like cancelled my license or frozen my license or whatever, I could always go back to medicine if I needed to.

And so it became a really really solid backup option.

Best case scenario, it does work out, and then I live my dream life.

So at that point, the decision was fairly straightforward.

But even then, there was still so much fear.

I was on a podcast called The School of Greatness, where this wonderful guy called Lewis House was interviewing me about like passive income stuff.

And like halfway halfway through the episode, it sort of he was asking me about this medicine stuff, and at the time I was like working part time as a doctor.

And he basically helped me see that what was holding me back from taking the plunge and going full time entrepreneur was fear.

I had so much fear about like losing status, losing prestige, what if it doesn't work out, and all all all this sort of stuff.

And so I'm super grateful to Lewis because his like gentle but persistent nudging to be like why are you still doing part time medicine when you could be a full time entrepreneur, which you enjoy way more and makes more money, that was a really really helpful and realization.

And so all of these things slowly built up, and that meant when I took the plunge, I didn't really feel like much of a plunge.

It just felt like a step in a different direction.
