What would an inside-out Twinkie taste like?
Let's talk about that.
Good mythical morning.
A cartoon owl once told us that it took three licks to get to the center of a Twixie pop.
That's too many licks.
Who has the time?
We don't, but that got us thinking: Are there any other delicious treats hiding inside other foods?
And should those insides be the star?
We gotta find out.
It's time for inside-out food.
We're starting off with an in-and-out burger, a double-double to be specific.
We're gonna go out and in.
Yeah, we are.
Let's see what we've got.
This is what happened.
When you shuffle a burger like a deck of cards, I mean that's a lot of lot of onion.
And we have the original in-and-out over there for comparison.
But why taste that?
We're not comparing it to the original.
We're saying does this on its own work?
Well, I'm touching a lot of onion.
There is.
I like to know I've been eating a burger with such a thing as onion wrapped in-and-out burgers, the Flying Dutchman.
You can get like a Flying Dutchman onion wrapped, but it doesn't have a double-double onion wrapped if you want.
I'm sure.
I don't think.
I'm not sure.
I don't think I can get my mouth around this.
We both love onion.
I'm far about.
It is grilled, which does help.
I mean, I love the taste, but I'm beginning to understand why they invented buns.
You made a mess.
Somehow I didn't make a mess.
Yeah, because you got the plate.
Yeah, but there's nothing on my plate because my mouth happened.
My mouth is smaller, so I had to squish.
I mean, it's very aromatic.
You got that onion just kicking.
Boy, I mean, it's just too much onion.
I've been tempted to try an onion wrap.
Thank you for answering that question for me.
I love the construction of an onion.
Just a bunch of concentric circles.
Oh, we want to buy a Flying Dutchman as well, but when I get there, I end up just continuing to get a double-double.
That's really what I want.
Who needs this much onion?
I I want to look at it.
It just keeps coming.
Onion just keeps coming, y'all.
Until it's just a little volcano shape.
I keep eating it.
It's beautiful.
Okay, who are we kidding?
I mean, this was a cute thing to do, but this was not a smart thing to do.
So we're gonna say in-and-out burger is an inside-out sin.
This portion of today's episode is sponsored by Chime, America's number one choice for banking.
I really hate hidden or extra fees.
Why does everything need to have another fee?
It's unfeasible.
I like that you said unfeasible, but I take fees too.
You take fees.
I hate fees too.
I hate fees too.
Think about movie tickets.
All right, when I order them online, I get charged a fee, so that I don't have to print a ticket.
There's no printed ticket.
Why am I being charged more?
I don't know.
For doing less.
It's enough to get worked up.
You want to give me worked up on concert fees?
No, I don't.
All right.
Chime hates unnecessary fees too.
Chime

For example, say you saved ten thousand dollars in a regular savings account.
That's only earning you about thirty eight dollars a year.
But in Chime's high yield savings account, that's three hundred and eighty two dollars a year.
All you have to do is set it up once, and your money grows automatically, earning interest while you sleep.

All right, we got a Twinkie, which, as you know, has the cream on the inside.
Yes, it does.
You can imagine what we did.
There's two ingredients to a Twinkie.
I'm predicting cream on the outside of a Twinkie that we're going to have stiffened cream.
Stiffened cream?
And we do.
It is stiff.
Nicole, what'd you do on this?
So we took that inner Twinkie goo and we stiffened it a little bit with a little bit of marshmallow.
You did stiffen cream.
It's slightly stiffened, yes.
And then on the center is a meringue butter cake in kind of a slab formation that you'll see in there.
Instead of cream filling, it has filled cream in.
Sure.
Little freaky, yeah.
I think it tastes good.
I think it tastes better than a normal Twinkie.
Maybe I agree.
The ratio of cream to bread.
What is it?
Cake.
Cake.
Yes, it's cake.
Is better, but again, we eat with our hands.
We're people.
Yeah.
They put the soft, non-sticky stuff on the outside because we're people.
It's really what I want is I want this much cream inside of a Twinkie.
Oh, I want extra creamy Twinkie.
That's the ratios episode.
That's next week.
Yeah, we'll have to do that.
Yeah, it seems like I need to shave this Twinkie.
And you know what I'm saying?
If you're going to shave your Twinkie, keep that to yourself.
Well, I just meant it looked like shaving cream.
That's all that I meant.
Oh, okay.
All right.
Whatever.
Whatever.
Well, okay.
We I I want to think about this one though.
We believe we believe in the concept because I could eat it with a fork.
I could be like I'm eating with a fork.
It's the best part of the Twinkie.
Try with a fork.
I already liked it.
It's basically just cake with a lot of icing, though.
Can I just say that it became something else?
Yeah.
Well, I think it needs to ship with a fork.
You put a fork inside of here, and then it's all stiff cream and bamboo.
Yeah, bamboo fork.
Eco friendly.
Then we have it.
So this is conditional.
Yeah, Twinkie with bamboo fork inside out win.
A little note here: since we picked the inside-out version in that last round, we decided to bring the outside inside to bring back balance to the world.
You find anything out there?
I don't think anybody will miss it.
Well, it's a lot bigger in person.
Oh yeah.
All up close like that.
Okay, we got deviled eggs.
Typically presented with the egg white on the outside and the yolk taken and rearranged and put back on the inside.
Love them.
Never thought that was broken.
I guess we're going to call this angel eggs.
Oh.
The yolk.
What happened here?
So we took the yolks, blended them up, and added agar agar instead of gelatin to give it that snappy egg white texture you know and love.
And then we took the egg whites, cooked them, put them also through a blender, piped it with some mayonnaise, and you got some paprika on top.
So the paprika's still in the same place.
Yes.
The reason why I don't like an egg yolk is because it's not the texture of an egg white.
So, oh, maybe you changed it.
I did.
And think it.
It still didn't.
It's still kind of just.
Yeah.
That's not doing anything for me.
It tastes exactly the same.
But the texture's all wacky.
Yeah, just kind of disintegrated in there.
Oh God.
I would say the texture is as egg white like as you can get an egg yolk, but still not not there because I mean, just look at that.
I mean, that's natural.
So that's also natural, yeah.
Now, at family reunions, they all the time serve these, and if you brought these, you won't be invited back, and that might be what you want.
So keep that in mind.
Yeah, family reunions.
When was the last time you went to one?
Ah, this past summer.
Ah, oh yeah, that's right.
Yeah, because we happened to be in town.
Yeah, and it was a potluck too.
And I was exempt because I was from out of state.
Perfect scenario.
Going to a family potluck, we don't have to bring anything.
Did you enjoy it?
It's like I was a child.
But okay, it was like I was a child.
What was the activity?
Everybody wear the same T-shirt.
We don't do that cornhole.
Didn't do that.
Anybody get up and give a speech?
Yes.
うん。
And what did they talk about?
Um, he talked about whatever everybody was up to, and just he got a little teary eyed, and then he handed it over to the oldest living relative, which was Nana.
Oh.
And then she made sure everybody was reading their Bible.
Did you get a shout out?
No, I didn't.
But my cousin who flips burgers at a food truck is going to be featured on the Carolina Traveler.
Got a shout.
Oh, he deserves it.
She don't.
Oh, sorry.
Yeah.
うん。
Yeah.
うん。
I'm making assumptions.
You didn't say cousinette.
I'm sorry.
Good burgers apparently.
Okay.
I mean, but it's beautiful, don't you think?
I mean, look at it.
Do you really want to say no to this?
I put it in my mouth.
So yes.
Yeah.
うん。
Okay.
Devil eggs inside out.
Sin.
There's a lot that goes into each and every episode of Good Mythical Morning.
『Good Mythical Morning』
We have an incredible crew that puts a lot of hard work into each episode, and you can see we also process.
You can see the behind the mythicality process over on the Mythical Society.
Mythical Society
Yeah, I mean, I think maybe they work harder.
I find out when I watch them too.
That's right.
Fortune cookies.
I mean, we're fortunate enough to have some.
The only food with a message inside.
You will soon be involved in many gatherings and parties.
Oh, like the family reunion, huh?
Next year you're going.
More of those.
New financial resources will soon become available to you.
Why do you go evil?
I don't know.
You're gonna do evil things with that financial resources.
Ah.
Okay.
Right.
Traditional.
I don't believe in this.
They don't have the origins in China.
Traditional fortune cookies are from Japan.
And these inside out ones are from Burbank.
Oh.
You don't have to eat the cookie to get the fortune because it's right here.
It's a little bit of a spoiler, huh?
And then let's look inside to get the cookie.
Well, I'm gonna read it first.
I I can see the cookie, and I'm like, what?
It's the.
それは。
What chance happening will reveal your destiny?
Okay, so I mean, you just went with the normal thing.
That is such a delicate little fortune cookie thing.
You wanted a joke on top of the joke?
Yes, I did.
I wanted a hat on a hat, Cardi.
Boy, a mistake will soon be corrected.
How did y'all do this, Nicole?
Well, it's pretty much like a twieel batter or a really, really thin cookie batter, and we spread that out on a sheet, baked it off, and then cut it in these really, really small portions while it was still warm.
It's so delicate.
It's better.
It's better that yeah, that thin.
This is like just too much cookie.
This is our cake, Nicole.
Now that I've had this, and I like the fact that it's bigger, and then we're correct.
This is the mistake that we're correcting.
Your fortune cookies are too thick.
See, when that hit your crust, did it hurt?
Yeah, it hurt a little bit.
See, because it was too thick.
The mistake has been corrected with the thinness of the cookie.
Remember that time we were at that Chinese restaurant, Fuquay, and we were having a discussion about something about like our future, and then we opened up that fortune cookie, and it was like very specifically relevant.
We felt like we were confirmed in the decision we were making.
That I can't remember.
Yeah, and then I lost it.
But I wouldn't lose this.
We got very excited.
We didn't have any business getting that excited over a fortune.
No, I don't, because I don't believe in it.
But when it was something that we really wanted to hear, it aligns with something you want to hear.
We started believing that.
I'll tell you, and yeah, yeah, remember that next time you believe something.
So we're gonna say we are anti-believing things all of a sudden.
Fortune cookie inside out win.
All right, well, we had to get some more stuff from outside to balance everything.
Mission accomplished here.
Hold this, okay?
Well, this makes me feel a little uncomfortable.
I mean, they're they're all dry, so I guess okay.
As long as they're inside, they're serving our purposes.
Ooh, chocolate chips.
As you know, we have sent chocolate chip cookies in a different direction before when we went chocolate chipless for me, which is my dream chocolate chip is chocolate chipless chocolate chip cookies.
Which there's a ground swell of support across the internet for this concept.
Not of me.
I'm just joining the contingent of people that know that it is its own thing and should be something that everyone accepts and doesn't start saying things like it's a sugar cookie.
But here's the thing, Link: that it's dumb.
One of the one of the things that the internet has taught us all is that if you're wrong about something, you can find a lot of people to agree with you.
That doesn't mean you're right.
That just means there's a lot of bite right here.
I don't have people who agree with you.
I didn't get a chocolate chip.
Well, I did get one, but that's okay.
Okay, one.
But I think this is going to be an unpleasant experience for you.
But hold on, but it could be a completely different thing.
Because it's just like a chocolate bar with little pieces of cookie dough in it, which is a type of chocolate bar that you might get.
Well, that's an interesting thought.
Don't think of it like a cookie.
Think of it like chocolate.
There's a cookie that looks like this.
It's not this.
You mean like a dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookie?
Yeah, yeah, but it's not that.
But this is just straight up chocolate.
Straight up chocolate.
It's a chocolate ganache because we didn't want to just give you a bar chocolate.
We wanted to, you know, soften the bite a little bit for you, make it a little bit more palatable.
Super rich though.
I mean, I wouldn't have more than one.
I have not detected those cute little cookie dough balls in my bite.
There's a little bit of crispy.
That's all it is.
I'm just trying to get a cookie dough.
Just a little crispy.
You're not just trying to trying to pick that out.
Sorry, and only that.
So you're saying it's a chocolate bar in the shape of a cookie, in the shape of a cookie with little dough balls that I can't taste it.
They are being overpowered by the chocolate.
They add a little bit of a texture thing that I like, but these are going to deceive a lot of people because they're going to think it's just one of those chocolate chip cookies that, like you said, it's some fun little gimmick.
You think this is a gimmick?
I can see somebody.
I do like it, but I don't actually.
I don't like it as much as I just like a cookie.
Again, that's beautiful.
I just think I would rather eat just a chocolate bar.
Oh my god.
I wonder if somebody who has spent some time, you know, gardening, who just read the Toll House bag wrong, could end up with that.
Probably though.
Yeah.
I mean, they probably enjoy it.
Not as good as that though.
Chocolate chip cookie.
It's an inside-out thing.
So some things, not all things, not most things, yeah, most things inside out.
The fortune cookie, and also the Twinkie.
Even some of the things that we said could maybe shouldn't, but we stand by the really thin fortune cookie.
Yes, we are.
Thanks for being mythical best.
Mythical Best
You know what time it is?
Hey, I'm Maria.
Not Mary.
And we just cooked pulled pork Twinkies from the mythical cookbook, and it's time to spin the wheel of mythicalities.
Enjoy.
Pulled pork Twinkies.
I forgot that they're good.
They're made out of cornbread.
They're actually good.
Nice.
Well, this wheel's acting up.
