He just like rolled over and did the full cat tummy expose, and I was like, Oh, I think I could get down with cats.
Tessa always thought she was a dog person and had no plans of ever getting a cat until this happened.
I was not even interested in cats.
My friend found him in her car engine, and then she texted us and was like, "You could just foster him for a couple nights." While Tessa did not know a thing about raising kittens, her and her fiance had a big heart for animals.
We're so obsessed with our dog, and it's always been the Melons Show.
But we weren't sure how the integration would go.
But from the get, she was like really trying to like lick him and nurture him.
She really wanted to mother this cat.
While Melons was so ready to be the older sister, Mango was just going to need a little bit more convincing.
The first week, he was kind of in his fight or flight protective mode.
Melons, he was just like really patient and would just let him come to her.
And before we knew it, they were just running around together, like always playing and coming in to eat at the same time.
And if you thought the story was going to end there, you're wrong.
Recently, Tesla's fiance actually rescued a tiny black kitten off the road.
He was in way rougher shape than Mango ever was.
We just like fed him and took care of him.
He started having a lot of fun with Mango and Melons, and it was just kind of like what's one more cat?
And then here we are with Fig, who's also really sweet, just like has a more mischievous personality.
It's funny how that happens.
There's always like a gateway drug animal.
Ever since Mango and Fig have entered the picture, it's been so beautiful to watch Melons be such a maternal dog.
It's just been a cool way to bring more love into our family.
Honestly.
