Hey, it's Kudaira here.
Today I'm going to do a room tour for the first time in a while. It's been about four or five months since I last filmed,
and since then the living room and kitchen have changed quite a bit,
I'd like to introduce those changes, including some recommended items. In my last video I mentioned I had surgery on this wrist,
thank you for your comments on that video. It's gotten much better. I can
hold the camera properly now. It's recovered that dramatically. Thank you. So let's get right into it.
I think you'll notice it's changed quite a bit right in front of you,
but first I'll start with the entryway area. Yes, first up is this. I'd like to introduce this,
well, it hasn't changed that much, but there's one big thing
I've added, and it's this. It's a mirror. I stuck this mirror on this entryway door,
It's really great. Even when stuck on like this, it doesn't fall off. I stand here and
check my appearance a bit before going out,
that's how I'm using it.
Mirrors are really hard to find a place for, you know.
If you just lean a regular one in the living room, you're worried it might fall over, and thinking about what if it breaks,
it's kind of hard to place them. Last time I was
using a standing-type mirror,
but I accidentally broke it. So I switched to this one,
and yeah, you don't have to worry about that with this. This is a stick-on mirror. Even though mirrors are so heavy,
you might wonder how it can stick on — it's because it's made of a different material than a normal mirror. Let me take it off for a sec.
You can take it off like this. You can easily remove it like this, and it's also super light. And you can lean it
somewhere like this too. It seems to be trending lately, this is more like a
mirror sheet rather than a mirror,
if that makes sense. And if you look at the back, there are magnets
like this. So
if your front door is magnetic-compatible,
you can stick it on, so I highly recommend it. And finally, I'll just put it back like this. The magnets are strong so
it doesn't fall off at all. It doesn't shift or fall. I really recommend this. So that's the entryway.
Something I often get asked about is this here. This sheet — since I don't really use this window, I'm covering it with a paper-like curtain
like this. I bought this at IKEA. I think it was about 300 or 500 yen, and I just
cut it to fit this window nicely. Just that alone changes the atmosphere a lot, so I highly recommend this too.
I'm holding the bottom part with a thumbtack,
but depending on how you use it,
you could attach a magnet or something at the bottom and lift it up like this, so
you could use it that way too. Okay, next is the living room.
For those seeing this for the first time,
this is a 54-year-old house,
that we renovated and live in. So there are marks like scars on these pillars, but originally there was
a wall here, and we tore down the wall
to make it into one slightly larger
living room. We plastered the walls ourselves with plaster and such
to live here. We've left old charming things like these doors
as they are. What changed since last time is this mattress here. In winter
it often makes an appearance. It's a fairly thick mattress,
so you can lie around here without it
hurting at all. Like this,
it's quite thick, and I've been using this for about three years now, I think. It hasn't sagged at all. And this is
from a brand called [ ], and I usually use it as the mattress to lay under
the kotatsu when I use it, but since we don't have a sofa or anything, with just the floor there's just
no space to relax.
Right now,
I've placed this mattress here
and made it a space where I can lounge around a bit. Just having this one thing makes a huge difference, and lately I've been enjoying this style. The chair is
It's a chair called Helinox that can be folded. It folds down really compactly
so
I think it was lying horizontally in the back, but this new table has been set up. And actually, this is Mami's
space, you know,
There's a sewing machine here.
She said she wants to start using a sewing machine, and being upstairs is a bit inconvenient, so she'd be happy to have it here downstairs on the first floor, so we decided to bring it here.
That's why we've set it up here.
It used to project the projector screen
here, but instead I brought a painting
and placed it boldly on this white wall. The projector is over here
The projector is here
so it can project onto this white wall. So the living room now
feels a bit more open, but I personally really love having a room to work in,
so I think this kind of setup is really nice. And next to it, which I'll introduce later,
there's also my workspace in the corner of the kitchen. I do have a room upstairs too, but
I've ended up working downstairs on the first floor. Yes, she's totally into sewing machines right now, so please
check out her videos.
Next is the kitchen. This kitchen has changed quite a bit too. At first glance it might not look like much has changed,
but it's become much more comfortable for me personally. This table hasn't changed, but this
small shelf was added, and starting from here, this is the coffee corner.
It's become a coffee corner.
It was quite
scattered around, and I was going around in circles
preparing coffee and
dripping it, but
I've consolidated everything into this one spot, so everything is done right here, which is very convenient. And the light comes in here. This spot
is really great, and ever since I lived alone, I've often set up my coffee corner by the window.
That's been the case up until now. So I placed it like that this time too. When steam rises like this
and you place it by a window like this, it somehow feels like it tastes even better.
So I decided this is the best spot and set it up here. To briefly introduce these,
this is Kalita's Nice Cut G and this is
a brewer stand, and this is a hand grinder by 1Zpresso
and this is a Kaikado tea canister. I use it to store coffee beans. Depending on my mood, I enjoy using this machine to grind, or grinding by hand with this, or switching to a small Porlex,
since the taste really changes, so I enjoy that as well. I usually place some branches here,
but
けど
there aren't many branches in season right now, so there's nothing at the moment. These blinds are really nice. Lately,
this is my favorite, these blinds let me subtly adjust the light. I really like that. And if you angle these blinds upward,
the ceiling gets brighter. So you can
change the atmosphere quite dramatically. So when I'm editing,
when light comes in like this and
reflects on the screen making it hard to see, I just close them all, or like before, reflect the light onto the ceiling to edit,
or things like that,
I'm adjusting things that way. These blinds are really great. This here. This is the editing space,
like that.
Recently this style has been really great. What's so good about it is that I attached rollers to the legs.
I added legs to this table I bought at an antique market.
you know, I really like it and use it often. Yes, next is this. This has also changed quite a bit, this low table
You can move it around like this. It moves smoothly,
function
it also has, so I edit facing this way,
During meetings,
I put the wall behind me like this,
If I do it like this,
the wall will be behind me so I can have meetings with a white background, and adding rollers has quite a lot of benefits
And this table is the same height, so if I join them like this,
I can eat while watching a drama or a movie, things like that, so
It looks like this. It's become a bit like a meeting room, but well, in that way,
I usually set up a chair like this and edit like this
And I recently bought this chair too. I think it was about 2 months ago, on a site called Kanademono
called
I found this work chair
I really like this one. I introduced it on my blog before, it's like this
a chair with a bit of a retro feel, and this one also has rollers
The combination of the seat fabric-like part
and the wood is really nice. I really like this. And you can adjust the height, so
I set it to a height that's easy to edit at, and I also use this chair when eating, so
I raise it a bit higher when eating,
I use it while fine-tuning like that. Mami-san said she wanted the same chair, so I bought another one,
I bought it. Yes, there were various options, but there was also this kind of natural-looking color,
There was. My desk area looks like this,
I'm trying to keep it as tidy as possible, but there's something I've been liking lately, and it's this. This Ulanzi smartphone
magnetic stand that attaches to the back,
What's great about this stand is, first, it detaches like this with the magnet,
Attach it like this and stand it up like this, then see. Then
it becomes a stand like this. This is really great. And my hand developed tenosynovitis,
so moving it with just my thumb like this wasn't good for it, so I tried this,
and it's really good because I can place it on the table and operate it like this, so I no longer put strain on just my thumb,
so I really like this. Well, like this, many YouTubers
seem to use this as a selfie stick,
it seems. Yes, well, you can change the angle so you can do it however you like like this. I bought this on Amazon for about 2000 yen,
I highly recommend it for iPhone users,
This is one of my recent favorites. Yes, continuing on to the kitchen here. This lighting has probably changed too,
It's Isamu Noguchi lighting, a slightly oval-shaped Akari series made of washi paper,
I use it in the living room too, and it's from the same series. By also putting it in this kitchen, I thought it would create a connection with the living room,
so I
recently installed this,
I bought this about 5 years ago,
It's been quite useful, I've moved it to different rooms and used it. To introduce it again, this is a European antique table,
けど
but
It uses very old wood, and the density is amazing. The wood is so dense that it's incredibly heavy. But these rollers
are also on this. This kitchen is full of rollers,
So you can freely move it around. If you lift this up like this, you can move it. To suit your preference,
You can move it like this,
So you can pull it over here to make cooking in the kitchen a bit easier, you can use it that way,
Well, you can also combine it like this. So I use it according to my mood. So since this is connected as is,
Since the living room and kitchen are connected, you can take this straight to the living room,
And eat in the living room. Yes, it's surprisingly heavy, but with rollers,
It's attached so it's really
easy to use. Usually I cook here and use this worktop space at about this size
I do. And this has drawers and such too and it's been really handy. And this furniture is, um, from a shop called Shark Attack
if you're buying antique furniture
I highly recommend it. I want to go to
Shark Attack about once a week. And this, this is, well, lately I've been making tea so things like this tea
something where I can make it right away
I've placed it for now. This case is recently released
it's a case. It's very
stylish and nice. And continuing on, here is the tea corner
and dry goods and flours and things are stocked here. In Spilling containers
I put them in and use them. With this, the vacuum machine
you can remove the air and vacuum seal it. This one, this cap and such
you place the vacuum device on it and pump the air out, that kind of
storage container it is
and this one was also purchased at the aforementioned Shark Attack
tin can. The contents inside were kind of miso-like, so I'm using this as a tea canister now. A really perfect
tea canister
is complete. Well, I really like green tea and black tea, so whenever I buy some somewhere I put it all at once in here
I'm putting them in
I feel like it will get a lot of use in the coming season. Well, like this, this area hasn't changed that much. And next is around here. This also changed quite a bit. And this iPad
I feel like it will get a lot of use in the coming season. Well, like this, this area hasn't changed that much. And next is around here. This also changed quite a bit. And this iPad
I've attached it here, so I can immediately check the recipes I've made so far
I've set it up here so I can check them. So I attached cables and things like this
I tried to make it look neat. This is also set up here so it can be charged with like a magnetic cable. I really like this lighting too, placing the light like this
I really like it, placing the light like this
I bought it on a Korean website, and it also serves to illuminate mainly the dining table. At night it creates quite a nice atmosphere, so I really recommend this too. This is unchanged
It's a Panasonic kitchen. I made this all white, but since the kitchen and living room are connected, as much as possible
I wanted to erase the kitchen feel
I wanted to eliminate it, so
I made it a color that connects with the wall
I did. And, to make it as stylish as possible, I've adopted this kind of triple burner. So
normal stoves have three burners in a triangle shape, and the handles clash and such, but
since it's toward the back, the handles don't stick out from here and such
there's space here so I can make dressing here or chop ingredients, that kind of use too
I can do, and I highly recommend this triple burner. Also here. I increased the storage cases here
here for plastic bottles and cans
I've made it a space where I can put that kind of trash, and surprisingly I thought bigger might be better but it was just right
there's this kind of gap too, it's long and narrow, the width is
less than eighteen centimeters, I think? It's about that, but I'm glad I bought this too. Compared to last time there are a bit more things
I think there's more of a brown feel, but
I really like this style lately. After all, usability is above all
it's good. It's nice to keep things tidy, but if you put absolutely everything away, when you want to use it
ときに
when
you can't use it right away, so
I tried putting out some shelves and things, and I think it's become much easier to use. Gradually the old kitchen-like
feel is coming back, or something like that
I think the current balance is really good. Yes, this time I mainly introduced the parts that changed
it was a room tour, but how was it? I've listed some of the products I introduced in the description box
so please take a look if you'd like. I'll do another room tour when something changes
I think so. Well, I will end it here. Thank you for watching
See you next time
