Even in the Taikodo pioneer group,
the group leaders were offering up women.
Yes, well,
there is a background to that: when building the modern nation-state in Meiji, the country created a patriarchal
a state built around that,
centering men and dividing women,
dividing women into two: on one side, women as the child-bearing sex, and on the other, objects of pleasurable sexuality.
In that way women were divided in two. There was a rigid patriarchy, and so
in extreme conditions, among women,
a selection took place.
In Kurokawa's case, it was unmarried women,
and this was to protect the wives of soldiers at the front — in the end, to protect the women who were the child-bearing sex,
In the case of the Taikodo pioneer group, they chose women from outside the group,
targeting the more vulnerable people,
taking advantage of them, or rather, deliberately going after them.

making the women pay the price —
According to research by women's history scholar Yoshiko Hirai,
