So this time, you know, there's this thing called an AI Box that lets you watch YouTube in your car. Yes. And this is a near-flagship model AI Box released by the company that handles many AI Boxes,
I'd like to introduce it to you. Yes. So, here it is. Here. Yes. It's a model called the Cloud AI Box Ultra.
Yes. Yes. This is a newly released model that just came out recently, and it's packed with quite a lot of features, so you can rest assured that if you buy this, you'll definitely be able to watch YouTube in your car,
It's become a wonderful model like that.
Yes. I'd like to review in detail what specific features it has.
So first, the Cloud Ultra. Yes. I'd like to unbox this, but first, before introducing the product,
It's put out by OneCarStereo,
OneCarStereo.
They've put out another similar product. Yeah. There's one called H Pro Ultra, and that's
a model one rank above this Cloud Ultra. Yes.
It's a bit more expensive, about five or six thousand yen more, but functionally, this one is more than enough.
Could you please open it a bit? Yes.
When you open it,
Yes. We did a quick operation check earlier, so it's not completely unopened, but yes. This is how it comes packed right now. Yes. First, this is the main unit, but
What do you think of the main unit, take a look first. It's all small and compact, isn't it? That's right. And yet it's an AI Box,
but it has a pretty cool design, I think. Indeed. Like a piano black kind of feel.
Yes, yes. A bit shimmery metallic. Ah,
Nice. Yes. It has that kind of look.
And looking at the exterior a bit more, it has quite a lot of features on the sides,
all the necessary functions are packed into this square shape. Yes. For example, on this side,
If this is the side with the camera, this is the SD card. That's right.
card, and it says CPAA, but this is a CarPlay Android Auto switching
switch, kind of. I see. Yes. This CarPlay Android Auto
switch, I use it occasionally.
When it fails to connect, you can poke it with a toothpick or something and it will connect. Yes.
For the card, for example, if you download movies or long videos at home, you can watch them with this without connecting to the internet. Yes. What's next to it?
Next is,
This is probably Type-C. That's right. Yes.
What is this?
It says AV, I think, but there's a separately sold product that also comes with a dashcam.
Yes. So there's also a product with a dashcam and an in-car camera for the Cloud Ultra,
and it's connected like an optional product. If you don't select anything, it comes with the main unit and a remote control for operation.
Yes, and in addition to that you can choose a dashcam,
and dashcam plus in-car camera.
This is where you connect those. Yes. And next to that is,
Yes. And next is,
the SIM card slot.
ですね
Right.
あの
Well,
The box is basically a product you use connected to the internet, so
As for how to connect to the internet, I do it by tethering from my
but you can also contract a SIM card yourself and use internet communication via that SIM card. Next to that is the exhaust vent, I guess. Yes.
And then there's HDMI in and
out, there's an out.
Having both in and out means, for example, the in can display video from a Switch or game console here, and also for what's called a flip-down monitor,
like those high-resolution monitors on minivans, you know. There are, right. You use the in to display on those. I see. And what is the out for? Conversely, this
is for when you display the video output from this box
on another monitor. Yes. It might not be common, but you use the out when displaying on a mobile monitor or something.
And next to that is also an exhaust vent, and that's one full lap? One lap.
Something like that.
As for what accessories are included,
first, this is Type-C and
Type-C. Right. Is that what you use with this car? Something like that. Right.
This is USB and
Type-C, I guess
Right. C and A. C and A. And what is this, this is Type-A to Type-A, I guess. Right, this one has an AI box included, but
for people driving older cars, if there's not enough power to run the AI box, you use this
to supply power from the cigarette lighter socket, and then you can run the AI box with that power, it's like an auxiliary cable. Right. Yes, yes. That
is included. Yes. And there's one more thing
included, and this is
Type-A to Type-C, I guess. And it's the recommended one. I see. So it's like a conversion adapter. It's a conversion adapter. Yeah.
I see. And what is this next one?
What could this be?
Is it a card? For trying a SIM card
It's probably a SIM card for trial use
How much data is it?
This is 100 megabytes, so it's really just a trial. Ah. It can probably only be used to check if it works or not
Something like that. If you try to play a video at first, it'll probably run out right away. Right, right. That's basically what's included
That's what's included. Right.
Also, I didn't bring it this time, but separately there's an operation remote control included, for example, when a passenger tries to touch the screen while driving
it shakes quite a bit and it's hard to tap accurately. Right. And in that case, having a remote makes it easier to use, so a remote is also included
That's all for the accessories.
Now let's actually try using the Cloud Ultra,
and where the communication port is in Osumi-kun's GR Corolla, it seems to be here. I see. This changes too, but
The connection method is very simple, you just plug this into that port, right? That's right.
And there's one single biggest point to be careful about when using an AI box, and that is
if your own car doesn't support wired CarPlay or Android Auto, then no AI box model can be used at all
Yes. What wired CarPlay and Android Auto are, well, you sometimes use Android Auto or CarPlay,
especially with cars that only have a display audio, many people use car navigation functions through smartphone apps,
For cars where that works with a wired connection, they used to connect older cars that way. Right. Well, old means like 5 or 6 years ago though
Yeah. Well, if it's a car where that works, then you can use it. Yes. So thinking about it, if you're driving a car from the last 5 or 6 years, you can normally use it. Yes.
はい
Yes.
While talking about that kind of thing, yes,
it boots up like this. Yes, the main screen looks like this, so the first thing to do is connect to the internet from Settings,
and I'll use tethering this time, so I'll select tethering from my smartphone
Yes, so now the internet connection is complete like this
As for connection methods, besides tethering, there are also physical SIM and something called Cloud SIM. Yes. What this Cloud SIM is,
is that it picks up an internet connection and you can use it with that, I see. If you sign up for Cloud SIM, you can use that. Yes.
And the H Pro Ultra
supported that with 5G,
but the Cloud Ultra only supports it with 4G
That's how it is.
Yes. Yes. Well, there's a slight difference there, but I personally don't think there's much difference even with 4G
That's what I personally think.
Yes. And what apps are installed, well, Google Maps and
also YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, etc.
are installed in various ways, and if you want to install an app,
you can download it from there.
Yes. There's also HDMI IN,
so when you want to display video here, you can do that too. Yes. Let's try watching YouTube. Yeah. It displays, doesn't it.
So, are you watching this kind of thing? Yes, it's like this, you can watch YouTube like this.
How about the picture quality and sound quality and such?
Yeah. Well, it's not bad enough to be bothersome. Right. The Toyota display itself is quite good quality, so
It's totally fine. Yeah. If the passenger wants to watch while driving, there's no inconvenience at all.
And it can be displayed full-screen like this, so you can enjoy dynamic video.
How about this?
Audio delay.
How is it?
It doesn't really feel like there's much audio lag. No, there isn't. Yeah. Maybe if you use it for a long time,
and this gets hot, it might get a little slower gradually, but
Well, it's not really noticeable enough to bother me.
That's how it feels. Yes.
Well, you can use it this comfortably.
You can use it normally like this. Yes.
As for this, besides being able to watch YouTube, there are actually many convenient features. Yes. I'd like to introduce them. First,
Now, watching YouTube
This is a standard feature that many AI boxes have,
Other than that, if you press this middle button and press these two portrait/landscape areas, and
select Maps,
it looks like this, with YouTube on the left and
maps on the right, like a split-screen display. Right. Yes. And you can change this ratio however you like, so
これができる
being able to do this
のがね
is
a feature of the higher-end box models. Right. Some can do it and some can't. Yes, some can't.
The Cloud model of course supports it. Oh, I just discovered something. You can swap them easily like this. Oh, really. That's nice. Yeah. If you tap twice, you can swap them.
It swaps. Right.
You can do that. Next, I'd like to try the voice-controlled AI
input. Yes.
There's something like a face icon here, if you press this, for example, let's try opening YouTube.
Open it,
With this, YouTube will
open. I tried a few things, but going back to the home screen, now here
there's a map, right? Yes. With Google Maps here like this, you can't open Google Maps with voice input. Oh, I see. Conversely, here with YouTube
you can't open YouTube, but you can open Maps. I see. As for other functions, for example, the DVR in the list. If you select this,
It's not connected right now, but if you purchase the separately sold camera, you can show the camera image here.
Also AirPlay and Android Cast, so this is mirroring.
You can do each of them. Well, each
if you set up the flow,
you'll be able to use wireless mirroring.
Yes. It's an AI box with lots of functions and full features.
Well, just now with
voice input I said 'Open YouTube',
Tell me tomorrow's weather.
Tomorrow, September 22nd in Osaka,
It will be cloudy in the morning, then sunny. Something like that, you can ask various things with voice input.
How about this?
Yeah, it's amazing. It's smart. Right, right. Well, various functions are combined into this box. Yes. For example,
I want to go to Wakayama Station.
One place found.
Wakayama Station. Yes. If you say that, it will guide you to the first place.
You can also select by number or place name
はい
Yes
Yes
the route to Wakayama Station comes up like this. Oh, this is handy, isn't it. It's handy. This is handy, right? Yes. Well, it's not like I didn't touch it at all, but with really just one touch
the route to Wakayama Station comes up like this
Yes. Yes. And this time, Osumiku's car is this GR Corolla,
so the display is only here, but of course all the operations we've done so far can also be shown on this flip-down monitor, here with Minima or
it can be displayed on monitors, right
Yes. Yes. For example, open the map on this screen and open YouTube on the rear flip-down,
you can do it that way, and of course you can also mirror the two-screen setup, YouTube on the right and
map style thing to the back, that's possible. Right. So, verified on H Brutal,
so we've confirmed it can do that
Yes
はい
So, this time we've taken a detailed look at the Cloud Ultra AI Box
and introduced it to you
So, what did you think of it? Well,
it's packed with amazing features and I thought it's become really easy to use. Right. Compared to the H Pro Router,
well, it's a bit of a more affordable model, but you really don't feel that at all
with such a full set of features. Especially that voice input has evolved quite a lot, I think
so I think if you buy this, YouTube in your car is definitely guaranteed, so please take this opportunity to purchase it
