This was our first day in China, and honestly, we could hardly believe that we were finally here.

Bright signs, enormous buildings, fashionable stores, and lively crowds appeared in every direction.

We kept looking around because there was always something new to notice.
いつも何か新しい発見があって、ずっと周りを見回していた。
Some people were shopping, others were taking photos, and families were simply enjoying the evening together.
買い物をする人、写真を撮る人、ただ夜を楽しむ家族もいた。
Behind us, modern glass buildings stood beside traditional Chinese architecture.
後ろには、伝統的な中国建築の隣に近代的なガラス張りのビルが立っていた。
That contrast made the city feel both historic and futuristic at the same time.
その対比が、この街を歴史的でありながら未来的にも感じさせた。
We were amazed by how enormous, clean, and energetic everything felt.
すべてがとても巨大で、きれいで、活気に満ちていて驚いた。
Beijing was far busier than we had imagined, but it did not feel chaotic.
北京は想像以上にずっと賑やかだったが、混沌とは感じなかった。
Instead, the movement had its own rhythm.
むしろ、その動きには独自のリズムがあった。
Cars passed nearby, conversations filled the air, and glowing lights slowly appeared as the sun began to set.
車が近くを通り、会話が空気に満ち、日が沈み始めると明かりがゆっくりと灯り始めた。
Although we were tired from traveling, our excitement was much stronger.
旅の疲れはあったが、興奮の方がずっと強かった。
stronger than our exhaustion, we wanted to explore every street, taste unfamiliar food, and understand more about the culture around us.
疲れよりも興奮が強く、どの通りも歩き、見慣れない食べ物を味わい、周りの文化をもっと理解したかった。
This was only the beginning of our trip, but we already knew that China was going to surprise us again and again.
