It was just so heartbreaking to see a six-week-old puppy in the shelter with his eye just bulging out.
He was found as a stray in a box.
We suspected that it was a dog bite that impacted his eye.
I just was tearing up.
Who could do such a thing?
You know, leave such a young little puppy.
And I immediately knew I wanted to foster him.
When I got home with him, I took him out and put him on the floor.
He really warmed up to me a lot.
We knew we had to do something with his eye, and one of the vets recommended that we get his eye removed.
He came out, and he had a massive scar with stitches, and he was still as confident as ever, really.
That's a good surprise.
He was like getting the zoomies, and I was like, "Okay, you need to relax." Just the most sassy guy, especially after losing an eye.
I had a pre-planned trip, and I knew Jacks still needed the care and everything, so he went to another foster.
And in this time, I absolutely cried my eyes out because I had just grown so attached to him.
He got his stitches removed, and it was really heartwarming to see him healed and just really doing well and back to himself.
I was on my flight back home, and I texted a team member, being like, "I want to adopt Jacks." And the very next day, I went and picked him up, and he's been mine ever since.
There was something about him—just so much personality, so much confidence—in this little tiny boy that I was like, "I just love you so much." Every day he just wakes up so happy.
She just looked really shut down.
No life left.
It was really sad.
We just got out of church.
We're just gonna go visit some dogs, post some pictures of them.
Went to the small dog room and we realized that there was a little small dog curled up.
She like put her head right back down.
She's like, "When people always look at us, but then they leave." Colby was holding her for the first time.
She just started peeing.
But I didn't care.
It was a little princess.
No, I felt like it was like the first time she exhaled.
Love her already.
So he knew we were gonna come home with the dog that day.
I didn't think that.
She slept a lot the first week.
Second week is when the really whining for attention all the time started happening.
We have just loved her back to life.
I think truly all she needed was like someone to give her a chance.
Yeah.
うん。
When she's around our other dogs, she gets a little bit more confident.
Okay.
So we've got now nine dogs.
Just to not overwhelm her, we wanted a special place for her that she could be in.
Went to Walmart.
I bought all the pink stuff I could find.
This is like my first female dog, and it just hit me different.
I know this little girl.
She knows it hurts.
Colby babies her to the point where I'll come home and I'm like, okay, give me the baby, can I hold her?
And he's like, no, I'm a girl, dad.
She has no reason to trust humans, but she's so gently, just does.
I really do feel like it was my baby.
Because she's just a little.
She's such a little baby.
Baby girl.
It's a baby girl dog.
In the ears.
