This is commentary from weather forecaster Mr. Fujieda. Thank you for having me. Thank you.
There really are a lot of typhoons this year. Yes, that's right. It has been thirteen years since Typhoon No. 30 formed. Yes.
Why is it that October typhoons require a bit of caution?
Well, because the sea cools down more slowly than the air, so sea water temperatures are still as high as in summer. So typhoons develop. Yes. And then
The flow of winds that move typhoons tends to head toward Honshu.
Furthermore, combined with the autumn rain front, they often bring heavy rain over a wide area.
So what about this Typhoon No. 30? Yes, looking at the forecast ahead,
After this, it will pass through an area where sea surface temperatures are over 30 degrees,
and in the latter half of next week there is a risk it will approach Okinawa with very strong force.
Furthermore, next week the autumn rain front will return, and the typhoon will stimulate the front, with a risk of heavy rain even in distant areas.
So from now on, in which
direction is it likely to go?
Yes, while more forecasts show it continuing straight toward the continent as is, there are still some forecasts showing it changing direction toward Honshu.
Since either possibility is possible, please check typhoon information frequently through next week.
