When I asked at the polling station,
what was clearly appearing, mainly among the working generation,
was the trend of economy over bases.

The resolution of the base issue as well.

but you haven't made any progress, and also the economy

hasn't improved and I haven't seen my standard of living get any better,
so I thought it might be good to try someone else. Regarding the base here, it's troublesome,
it's somehow sad.
The situation has been ongoing, but I felt like nothing was moving forward, so it's not exactly about moving on to the next thing, but...
it doesn't change, so well, I'll give up on that. Um, well,

income, you set a goal to double it. Do you think that doubling is a feasible number?
Of course, I intend to set it because it is possible. Well, there is the part about fostering new industries, and also increasing the added value of existing industries.

Is this your way of thinking regarding the construction of a new base? No, that's wrong. Yes, I have not used the term 'new base'.
If Henoko is built and it costs 2 trillion yen, if that happens, we will rebuild Okinawa.
I believe you also indicated the idea that the timeline for the Futenma relocation must be clarified. Will you discuss that with the government?
I will. Yes, of course I will.
Japan's security, Japan-US security. Well, that is the way Japan is,
so that's fine, but...
the fact that 70% of US military-exclusive facilities are concentrated in Okinawa is, after all, an excessive burden, so I believe that should be firmly addressed nationwide.
Well, I would like them to share this burden as well.
That is what our generation thinks as well.
Okinawa politics, bases and security,

the economy, and against the backdrop of Okinawa's history,

conservatives and progressives have complexly intersected.
In such Okinawa politics, for these twelve years,
the major axis has been 'All Okinawa'.

It is said that this has retreated significantly and is now at a critical juncture. Will the so-called 'All Okinawa' presence continue to exist from here on?
No, I think they will probably have to undergo a major reorganization.
The Futenma issue, or rather the Henoko relocation, has been a policy for eight years that could not be accomplished.
The fact that they could not provide a clear answer to the question of whether there is a way to do it in another term was a very significant blow.
Regarding Henoko,
since all lawsuits to stop construction have failed,
there is effectively no way for Okinawa Prefecture to stop it.
How will the new governor lead the future of Okinawa?
You mentioned identity, yes, that topic.
Can the young Mr. Onaga become a governor who firmly embodies that identity,
or what kind of evaluation would you give him, Professor?
That's right. Well, in this election, people moved more toward the economy than identity. I think the big point will be how effective this economy will actually be.
Regarding the base issue as well,
