Hi, I'm Yuka.
Today I've come to Kinosaki Onsen, a super popular hot spring town in Hyogo Prefecture.
This is my first time in Kinosaki Onsen, but isn't the atmosphere amazing?
Just walking around gets me excited.
This time I'm staying at Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinosaki.
It's my first time staying at an Ooedo Onsen, so I'm really looking forward to it.
But I didn't just come here to have fun today.
Actually, I'm holding a kitchen event in Shibuya on October 31st.
Today, also as preparation for that, I'd like to do a hot spring training camp at Ooedo Onsen.
Work hard on event prep, and as a reward for working hard, enjoy the hot springs and delicious food — I'll keep going with this carrot-and-stick approach.
Well then, off I go.
I'm going to walk there from Kinosaki Onsen Station.
It seems there's a free shuttle bus too.
But I missed it and there's no more at this time, so I'll walk.
It's about a 10-minute walk, so it's not that far.
It's fun just strolling around a town for the first time like this.
I've been passing quite a few people in yukata, and it looks fun to stroll around this area in yukata too.
I've arrived.
It's just after 6, but it's already pitch dark.
This is my first time staying at a hot spring resort, so this is what it's like.
Well then, let's go in.
Wow, amazing, it really feels like a hot spring place.
Wow, amazing.
The front desk looks like this, and they have yukata rentals and geta rentals too.
I've never been to an Ooedo Onsen before, but apparently they're all over Japan, I wonder if they all look like this.
Oh, this yukata is cute.
But I've been picking yellow a lot lately.
What color should I go with today?
I can't decide.
Which one do you think is good?
I've checked in.
Today's room is 617, on the top floor.
I wonder what kind of room it is.
The inside of the building looks like this, and apparently there's a large public bath on the first floor.
But it doesn't feel like there's a large bath yet, and there's no smell or anything, so I'm nervous if it's really there.
More than that, there's a free lounge and stuff, so I'm curious about that too.
Oh no, it's been raining too much.
I need to get my work done properly.
617, ah, it's a corner room, 617.
It's far from the elevator.
Finally made it.
Well then, let's go right in.
Oh, wow, it's a maisonette type room, unexpectedly.
Amazing, it feels like an apartment, not a hotel.
Well then, let's look at the first floor part first.
はい。
Yes.
Oh, this is it.
It's the same as the room I saw in the photos.
It's a Japanese-style tatami room.
Even though it's Japanese-style, it doesn't really feel like a traditional ryokan, more like a modern-style Japanese room.
When I was guided here, this was a room for 10 people.
There really are tons of cushions, so being alone feels kind of awkward.
If you say something funny, we could play a game where you keep getting more cushions.
On the first floor there's a toilet and a washbasin too.
I guess this is the bath.
I wonder if the room has its own bath.
Oh, wow.
It's totally like an apartment bath.
It's clean.
This area is normal, but the problem is the second floor.
I wonder what's on the second floor.
Shall we go up the stairs then.
Huh, what could it be.
There's a bath, toilet, and rooms, so what else could there be.
え?
Huh?
Two doors?
Huh, what is this.
Oh, wow.
There's a washbasin on the second floor too.
What about here?
So this must be the toilet.
Ah, it's the toilet.
Then let's open the first of the two doors.
I wonder what it is.
え?
Huh?
Oh, wow, amazing.
This is the bedroom.
And like, isn't it so spacious that one futon feels really lonely?
No, honestly we don't even need the second floor.
With a second floor it's too spacious and I'll just feel lonely.
I went a bit overboard.
But there wasn't really an option to choose a room.
It automatically became this place, but no, this is too much for one person.
I wonder what the other door is.
Oh, that's scary.
Shall we open it.
I have a bad feeling.
えい。
Here goes.
Ta-da.
Wow, what is this, isn't this crazy.
How many people is this for?
Ah, it's for 10 people.
So there was a Western-style room like this.
Ah, it's huge, too luxurious.
It's truly a room for overindulging.
No, it's so spacious I don't know where to spend my time.
There are 1, 2, 3, three rooms, but my favorite room is this one.
Doesn't this one have the best atmosphere?
Hmm, maybe I'll hole up here today.
No, holing up would be a waste.
Maybe I'll liven things up with three of them.
Well, shall we go back to the very first room for now.
It feels less like a training camp and more like a hotel in a two-family house.
Excuse me.
I've properly changed into a yukata.
Today I tried blue.
How is it?
Ah, I recently cut my hair really short.
Did you notice?
It's my first yukata in a while and I cut my hair, so I'm super nervous.
I wonder if it's okay, if it suits me.
Okay, then first let's think about today's plan.
Today is an onsen training camp, so I'm going to properly do work too.
Well, first I'll do a little work.
So please let me make an announcement.
Like this, on October 31st I'll be holding my kitchen car event.
This will be my third time with the kitchen car.
This time's theme is the Hanoi Meat Festival, and we're preparing mainly meat.
Like beef tongue, and also other things that go well with beer.
Well, I don't drink though.
Please everyone come eat a lot, drink a lot, and have fun.
Business hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM.
I'll be at the kitchen car the whole time, so you can meet me whenever you come.
And if you buy at least one item of merch at the goods corner and at least one food item at the kitchen car, you can take a regular photo with me.
I'll summarize the details below, so please check them in advance.
But it's super easy.
It's not difficult, so please feel free to come.
There will be several staff members on the day, so if you don't understand something, please ask them.
Okay, I said it properly.
Is it too early to take a bath now.
Huh, is it still not okay.
Should I work a little more.
What should I do.
Should I tidy up the room or something.
So dinner is from 7:30 PM, so I'm going to go eat dinner.
I've come to the restaurant venue on the 2nd floor.
It says there's no particular reception and seating is free.
Ah, then I'll go in.
Excuse me.
Dinner is buffet style, but isn't it incredibly spacious.
There looks like a huge variety.
It's amazing, there's a live kitchen with sirloin steak and grilled eel and more.
It's super luxurious.
Hui Guo Rou with pork from Hyogo Prefecture.
Like this, there are also local-style menu items.
Seasonal limited baked chicken.
It feels very autumn-like.
The whole buffet is all serious.
Everything looks delicious.
There's also steamed dishes in a bamboo steamer.
This looks so authentic.
The nigiri sushi is so beautiful it almost looks like AI, don't you think?
Ta-da!
I plated it up like this.
As expected with a buffet, you end up taking a lot.
Looks so delicious.
I have work today too, so I'm having oolong tea.
I really don't drink.
It's not oolong high, okay.
It's oolong tea.
Cheers.
Apparently you could add all-you-can-drink for about 2500 yen.
That's quite a good deal, right?
Everyone should definitely get it.
What should I eat first.
Maybe I'll go with the eel.
Isn't it rare to have eel at a buffet?
Ah, looks delicious.
Let's eat.
Mmm, so fluffy.
I've caught eel myself before, but this is bigger and fluffier than that eel.
As expected, one of these wasn't enough.
I'll go get eel like three more times.
Various kinds of sashimi.
Is this salmon, I wonder.
Yeah yeah.
The sea is close by here, so the seafood is super fresh.
Deliciousness you wouldn't expect from a buffet.
Oh no, it was so delicious I just kept eating in silence.
Look, the amount of eel is insane.
The eel is so good I can't stop.
While I kept grabbing eel one after another, the live kitchen couldn't keep up and ran out of eel.
I'm sorry.
I've been eating since 7:30 and about an hour has passed so there are fewer people now, but somehow I feel bad taking more.
It's awkward because I take them the moment they're cut, plated, and set out.
By the way, could you all read this kanji, Sakinomisaki, at a glance?
I couldn't read it and kept reading it as Shirasaki.
Isn't that such a trick for first-timers?
Aren't people who could read that at a glance amazing?
When I typed Shirasaki into the train transfer guide it said no matching station, and I was like what does that mean, and then oh,
I realized it's Sakinomisaki and I got it so wrong.
There was seiro-mushi so I got some.
My first seiro-mushi in my life, it's really trending, right?
I've never had it so this is my first time.
I wonder if it has flavor.
I was imagining ponzu and such but there was no ponzu.
Yeah, no flavor.
Maybe soy sauce.
わお。
Wow.
Scallops, looks so delicious.
うん。
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
The seiro steaming is delicious.
I could get hooked.
Ooedo Onsen is rolled out nationwide, and apparently there are as many as 75 stores across the country.
Back when it was in Odaiba, Tokyo, I kept thinking I want to go, I want to go.
But I never got to go, and before I knew it, it had closed.
This time it's Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium, and apparently there are about 28 Premium locations nationwide.
Premium is one rank above the regular,
The buffet is more luxurious, drinks are free in the lounge, and there are various perks, and the price here was under 20,000 yen per person.
It's surprisingly affordable, well, it's expensive, but for that level of luxury it's totally worth it.
We ate so much eel, it feels like about two servings of unaju.
That's got to be worth five thousand yen.
So out of the twenty thousand yen, I've gotten five thousand yen back.
I still need to make back another fifteen thousand yen worth.
I'm done eating, so next I want to do some work time.
I need to finalize the names for the food truck menu soon, so I'm going to decide the menu now.
Well, since it's called a meat festival, I want to include meat.
No, wait, no no no no.
When you say meat, there are so many different kinds.
There's everything from cheap meat to good meat,
I'm pretty picky about taste, so I want to order good meat, but hmm, which one should I choose.
Actually I've already held a tasting at home and tried all kinds of meat, and the good meat is the most delicious.
But the cost price is pretty high.
Ah, I'm torn.
Which do you think is better.
You know how at festivals there's dry, parched meat.
Rather than being like, ugh it's tough, not very tasty, it's better when you're like, what, this is so delicious, it gets you hyped up, right?
This time I want to go with that kind of lineup.
Well, since we're at it, kitchen events don't happen that often, it's a big event only two or three times a year, so let's go for it.
Then let's write down the meat I definitely want to include.
Well, first is beef tongue, right.
Well, beef tongue is a classic meat, right.
Beef tongue is a must.
There's also premium beef tongue.
I'd like to offer a choice, maybe go with both beef tongue and premium beef tongue.
Well, otherwise safely go with lean meat.
Beef lean.
After all, the classics make you happiest.
Hmm, I wonder.
I just wrote down what I feel like eating right now, so it's like this: beef tongue, premium beef tongue,
beef lean, wagyu kalbi, premium wagyu kalbi, and gyudon.
So, how does that look?
Honestly I'd love to increase the variety a lot and do like 20 or 30 kinds, that would be fun,
But if there are too many menu items, I personally would agonize over it.
I'd be like, which one should I choose, and it would take forever,
This time some people will be coming from far away, and there's the ideal versus reality, right.
I want people to enjoy lots of different menu items, but I don't want to keep them waiting too long, and I don't want to raise prices too much, so there's a lot to think about,
Well, there's a lot to it with a food truck.
Ah, I made eye contact with the deer head again.
A strong lemon sour, well, I'll have a drink for now.
Maybe thinking while drinking will clear my head.
No, that's not what this is.
Like, stop just drinking lemon sours and get to work, right?
Ah, I got this yesterday
Today's snack, carpaccio.
Ah, don't worry.
I won't serve meat like this.
I'll serve something a bit more proper.
This kitchen event has a bigger space than usual, but it's outdoors.
So since chopsticks would be hard to use, I'm thinking of putting everything on skewers.
Skewers are easier to eat, after all.
I'm planning to cosplay as a little devil on the day, but I've actually been thinking about a lot of things,
like how everyone can have fun and be comfortable, so I might be an angel.
I'm not sure if I'm an angel or a devil, I wonder which one.
So I've decided on the menu, next I'll think about the menu names.
Beef tongue, premium beef tongue.
I had trouble deciding on the menu names and thought about them seriously, and now I've finalized them all.
So without further ado, I'd like to announce the menu names.
First, the beef tongue is now the Witch's Beef Tongue.
Next, the premium beef tongue, this is the Witch's Premium Beef Tongue.
And next, the lean beef, this became Dracula's Lean Meat.
Oh no, this sounds so chuunibyo.
No, it's not that, it's just because it's Halloween so I'm keeping to the theme.
Next, the wagyu kalbi is the Devil's Temptation Kalbi.
This is kind of embarrassing even though I came up with it myself.
Next, the premium wagyu kalbi is the Devil's Temptation Premium Kalbi.
Next, the beef loin, Witch's Darkness Loin, negima, it became negima.
How is it? I tried really hard to make it Halloween-like.
Everyone, please remember them.
Well it's a bit confusing so I properly wrote beef tongue and such underneath.
This is embarrassing.
Ah, I wonder if it's okay.
Right now there's probably a Halloween-like song playing to make it feel like it.
I thought about the menu names, and also calculated the cost ratio and serving methods and stuff.
As you can see, I'm actually a kitchen car owner, so I thought a lot about it.
I should get some candy soon, right?
Didn't I work quite a bit?
So now I'm going to go to the long-awaited onsen I've been waiting for.
I'm excited.
Work is over and I came to the lounge space on the first floor, but it closed at 10 so I couldn't get anything to drink.
Bummer.
There was a totally drunk grandma earlier and she looked like she was having so much fun.
She was walking around holding alcohol so I asked if that was free and she was like
and I got so jealous.
Oh, there's a massage chair.
I wonder if this might be free too.
Surely not.
Ah, it was paid.
Apparently it's 300 yen.
There's no way such a good deal exists, right?
I've come to the large public bath.
There are two large baths, Genbe-no-yu and Kurubi-no-yu, and Genbe-no-yu is said to be named after Genbe-do near here.
And Kurubi-no-yu is said to be named after Mt. Kurai-dake, known as a famous spot for sea of clouds.
Well then, I'm off.
I took a bath.
I've removed my makeup so I'm bare-faced, sorry it's so dark.
The bath was really spacious with few people and felt so good.
Since I cut my hair, blow-drying only takes about five minutes now and it's so easy.
So since I worked a lot today, I think I'll go to sleep soon.
Good night.
Good morning.
This morning starts with rain.
I've come to the breakfast venue to eat breakfast, but look at this.
I made myself a luxurious seafood bowl from this morning.
Breakfast is also buffet style, but isn't it amazing with mainly seafood like this?
This is saury.
It looks incredibly delicious.
Well then, I think I'll eat breakfast.
Milk in the morning.
Cheers.
Well then, let's eat.
Oh no, I put in too much tuna and it's a huge serving.
I wonder if I can eat it well.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
うん。
Yeah.
これ
This
is the best.
Actually, after that last night I remembered things I had to do like making the menu list
and I got anxious about whether the merch would be okay and ended up working until early morning.
I slept around 5, so I didn't get much sleep.
I'm such a worrier that I'm always thinking is this okay, is that okay.
But it's come together pretty well and preparations are almost done, so I just have to wait for the day.
Last night I went outside for a change of pace.
Then it was raining, and when I went back to get an umbrella, the door wouldn't open.
I was in trouble thinking what to do.
You have to be careful.
Speaking of umbrellas, I'm such a rain woman, aren't I.
This time I finally made an umbrella.
I'm planning to sell umbrellas at the kitchen car, so please get one.
It's an umbrella exclusively for rain women.
Thank you for the meal.
This morning's breakfast was a seafood bowl.
The level of the seafood is too high.
It was incredibly delicious.
Oh no, I dozed off again in my room and it's already checkout time.
I'm still sleepy, but I'm going to check out.
I called to check if I could extend, but apparently I can't.
Checkout is at 11, so I'll try hard to wake up and drag myself out.
So I've checked out.
This time I stayed at Ooedo Onsen Monogatari for the first time, and it was so much fun.
Well, this time I came here for work, so I couldn't drink any alcohol, but if I get a chance to come again, I'd love to drink until I'm totally wasted.
Oh, as I mentioned in the video, my rain umbrella is this one.
Isn't it cute?
I made the design fairly simple so everyone can use it easily outdoors.
So I'll also be selling this umbrella at the kitchen car event, so please come visit.
Well then, shall we go over it one more time at the end?

See, this is open at the bottom so it keeps dripping down. It's hot.
As expected, it's piled up so high that it's really hard to eat.
