The so-called "zombie lawmakers" who lose in single-seat districts but win back seats through proportional representation —
in response to criticism of them, the Liberal Democratic Party is considering tightening the conditions for proportional revival.

Regarding proportional revival, where candidates who lose in single-seat districts win seats through proportional representation,
Amid growing criticism that it creates "zombie lawmakers,"
the Liberal Democratic Party has presented a plan that would make proportional revival more difficult.
We will reach a concrete conclusion on the issue of the divergence from voters' intentions.
Well, one thing is about dual candidacy,
currently a candidate can be revived and elected with at least one-tenth of the vote,
but I suggested that it should be reviewed to require at least one-sixth of the vote.
Meanwhile, as some say that stricter criteria would make it harder to reflect minority opinions and for newcomers to enter politics,
as it is an electoral system directly linked to reflecting the public will, should proportional revival be tightened or not?
That said, isn't losing in a single-seat district also an expression of the public will?
Is the proportional revival system that allows election afterward even necessary in the first place?
