The first friend I found was a boy on a bike.

I shuffled towards him, smiled, and was like, "Will you be my friend?

I got quite excited and off popped my head.

But for some zombie reason, it happened so fast.

The boy on the bike was not meant to last.

"Oops, I just ate you.
「おっと、君を食べちゃった。
" I burped out in shock.
」僕はショックでゲップをしながら言った。
My small belly grew as I rode down the block.
通りを走りながら、僕の小さなお腹は膨らんだ。

Did he - just eat - the kid?

My small belly grew as I wiped off the mess.

Two joggers came running.
二人のジョガーが走ってきた。

"You know what?

For some zombie reason, not making a sound, both joggers went missing.

"Oops, I just ate you," I said with a slurp.

My small belly grew as I let out a burp.

It didn't take long.

"We have to get rid of this horrible threat!

" They gathered their torches, some pitchforks, and ran to the no trespass zone where this whole thing began.

The night had devoured a beautiful day.
夜が美しい昼を飲み込んでいた。
I saw them all coming, a walking buffet.
彼らが皆やって来るのが見えた、歩くビュッフェだ。
I cannot believe it.

That's quite the big haul.

They're dying to see me, utensils and all!

And he's openly drooling and picturing the villagers as donuts and pizza and burgers.

My belly got bigger.

It grew and it grew.

And it happened again, and again, and again, till the whole little village was empty.

But then, I was left all alone.

Not a friend to be found.

He should look at his stomach!

I'm back where I started.

I mournfully frowned.

I stop and I hear this very soft sound, like the turning of pages, and I look around.
