Good morning. Good morning. I'm Kosaka from the Rolling Stock Materials Division, Vehicle Materials Department. Thank you for today. Thank you
Kosaka, could you first tell me your schedule for today? In the morning I'll check emails, and this afternoon

and from the afternoon to Aichi,
it's a supplier we always work with, and we're planning to do advance development and a monthly production meeting
Do you travel a lot?

On average, one to two days a week

I go to the Hokuriku and Kyushu

covering a wide range of textile products
Could you tell me what you are in charge of among them? I handle automotive interior-related products, such as car seats and doors,
instrument panels, and headliners also use textiles, so I handle those fabrics.
Is there anything you are particular about in your daily work?
It's been about 8 years since I joined, and now I'm in my 9th year,
but it hasn't really changed,
sincerity and also
being humble,

responding as quickly as possible — I'm conscious of responding wholeheartedly with those three main principles in mind
You have a business trip in the afternoon, so are you preparing anything? Basically this
is now a bit
well, we're in car seats, or rather automotive interiors,
within our company
among
products we made, we're exploring whether we can sell them to other customers,
so rather than something made from designs handed down from Tier 1 manufacturers, it's something we planned from scratch and
designed ourselves, so the target isn't decided at all, it's up to us,
designed ourselves, so the target isn't decided at all, it's up to us,
and I'd like to expand the scope a bit
around here a bit
today
we've also had other patterns made, so checking their progress,
how to show the samples, and coming up with ideas,
I'd like to ask everyone for that
Yes, I think that was right, basically I was asked by HR to choose between the industrial materials division
or the medical division, like which one I preferred,
and I kept telling them I wanted to do industrial materials
and I kept telling them I wanted to do industrial materials
Today's business trip destination is Aichi
I'll be visiting our business partners.
Um, first, the first company is one that
does fabric dyeing for us, and also lamination
and other processing mainly,
a processing company, but in particular,
we haven't set any particular targets
or timing, we've just made things ahead first, and whether, for example, this could be used
for some part of a car,
for interiors,
for sofas and such
After looking at the actual items we've brought up,
which customers should we
target them toward — that's what we'll be deciding.
Not just waiting for requests from automakers, but proactively planning and proposing new materials is also an important part of sales work.
Moving to Aichi, the first place we visited was
Owari Seisen Co., Ltd.
A manufacturer strong in automotive materials, and we'll discuss how the new samples can be used in products.
So, we've shared these samples in advance, and what about the colors,
For office use, black, is that right? What color? What shade of black?
Light ivory or beige, those tend to sell rather. Beige would be fine, wouldn't it.
The top of the three colors
Yes, made in Japan, and something like a catchphrase that leaves a strong impression,
Also contributing in terms of environment and recycling, but even the Century, more than Japanese people,
you know, they use it, so that's a strong commitment there.
At that time, well,
when I went to Tokyo,
These samples,
The actual suede samples that are ready — Mr. Hosaka, will you prepare and bring them? I'll bring them. Oh, I see.
Well, not exactly a brochure, but I'd like to introduce a few of them,
I'd appreciate it if we could. For example, with printing, like a color mix, colors coming in in an unusual way,
something like resin printing using a binder that fuses leather and fabric,
If we can do something like that, I'd like to bring such samples as well.
Based on the samples brought in, checking yarn thickness and specifications in detail,
we'll create new fabrics.
No, thank you very much for today. I look forward to continuing to work with you. How about Mr. Hosaka,
He's sharp, if that's not a strange way to put it, well, bad wording aside, his appearance and atmosphere,
He's a good listener, and he creates a very relaxed work environment — that kind of personality really comes across,
I think. It's still, what, 2 or 3 years, right? We meet directly here quite often, look at things together, get involved in making things together, so
we spend a lot of time together, so even those 3 years
feel really long, which just shows how intensively we've been working together.
We also, this
basically spend less time working at our desks, I think, so looking at actual products,
going to the site, talking with Seal Saki-san, and making things together,
we mostly go out to the field, touch fabrics, look at equipment,
あの
and
do that kind of work, overwhelmingly so.
Because if we don't know the products ourselves,
we can't talk together with our suppliers, nor can we absorb that and output it to our customers,
so we feel it's almost an obligation to go to the site,
that's how we see it.
Steady development that progresses over a long period of time
While visiting actual sites
I continue making things together with business partners
Well, originally I did a part-time job in apparel when I was a student, and when I was working part-time at one select shop
That I usually wear myself
At a clothing store with a different taste
I had to sell those clothes, I had to convey their appeal to customers, and when I thought that
I felt a bit stuck. I really like earning money myself and choosing and buying clothes I like
I ended up with that kind of perspective, so for a while
In a very neutral way
Without specializing entirely in textiles either, I was job-hunting, and raw materials
Trading companies related to
I was mainly looking at. Actually, even as a student I quite liked communicating with people
Building something together with everyone, so based on raw material manufacturers
I was looking at those trading companies and such. In the end it was a steel manufacturer or
こことか
This company or
I was torn between those two options
Pretty much
Yes. But the deciding factor in the end. The people actually working there
Well, what you'd now call seniors, I had meetings with them, like OB visits
At the company's Osaka head office, I had them
Several times, so the glamour of the people working there and
Wanting to become one of them myself, among the several candidates at first, this one stood out the most
In a place like this
If I could work wearing a suit
I really felt that would be cool
Next, heading to a knit manufacturer we've worked with for years. Even in an era
Where we can communicate online
I always show up in person every month
かなり
It's quite
Analog, so
Remote and such
Even though we've entered a convenient era where we can communicate online
I feel like we might not need to meet directly, but first we meet and
Talk, or else
They get anxious too
And we also
Wonder what they're thinking and get anxious, so things like I'm going to have a child soon
I share quite a bit of my private life too
But I can't quite do that over the phone either, so
Combined with visiting other clients
I'm visiting them, that's how it feels. Since I joined the company, in terms of history
It's the longest
He's the person with the biggest age gap with me, but we get along well. During meetings, work talk
Of course, for example, if it's an hour, within that hour
For about thirty to forty minutes we do it properly and
Intensely, but
Other than that, there's also some small talk
It's not zero, so sometimes after five
We go out together
Like asking them out for a meal, so we can get to know each other's private lives,
and conversely,
having them tell us about theirs, that's what we're doing.
Yes, that's what we're doing.
We visited a knit maker in Ichinomiya, Kitagawa Orimono, owned by
ニット
knit,
featuring products with a hand-woven-like softness that takes advantage of it.
The first one too,
I received a blanket,
Right now it's being used as my child's nap set at daycare.
It's become his nap set at the nursery.
Not just work talk, but casual chitchat is also important time for building trust.
From now on, based on the production volume for the next 3 months shown by the customer,
we will hold a monthly production meeting.
Sorry, Tomonari-san. Um,
could you go through each item number while just saying the numbers as they are? Tagawa-san will write them down there.
June, July stopped, that uh, until it comes back, licking at 88 o'clock
I'm writing down the numbers now.
a few months
That we folded and put away. Ah, folding. With today's issue
We're currently at 10 tons per month for this item number.
The first lot was 9,000 kilos,
about,
and the next lot was 4,000 kilos,
and the next lot will be one, two,
三さん
three,
four, five, six thousand kilos or so, it seems it will switch again.
That's for one month.
Like fifty tons or sixty tons,
that sort of thing,
we heard they'd do it,
and domestic production capacity is
about twenty thousand kilos, right?
From fifteen or sixteen thousand to about twenty thousand,
If so,
Zero two seven, yeah,
I heard they said they can follow up by moving it forward.
Today's quota is achieved.
Well, rather,
it's just a meeting, but the monthly production meeting
will continue every month,
so there's not really a goal, but once this stabilizes,
Right now the Okinawa production volume is
a bit,
we're asking for a small quantity, but
if it suddenly increases or suddenly decreases,
well, my junior who was joining remotely until now, well, I've handed over mass-production delivery to him,
so I'm following up now. And basically, Kosaka-san is also very kind to subcontractors, so
I'm also kind of in a supporting role right now. And basically, you know, Mr. Kosaka is really kind to the subcontractors, so
I don't have that unpleasant image at all
And when asked what I think of Frontier itself
I've only seen it through Kosaka-san, so Frontier itself also
friendly
I have the image that it's that kind of company
in a sense
we
from Kitamaru Knit's perspective, we're the face of Frontier, so
we must not break that image
if we're no good, it'll be like, what are you doing
it would come across as, what are you guys doing, so since we're asking for production on behalf of the company
and having them make things for us, that
relationship is something we really have to build properly. We represent the company, don't we
There's pressure and
it's steadily there. It's a big company, so that
image alone, each one of us
trust and things like that
in a sense easily
can collapse, so every single word I say, or what I say by email or phone
I do with the utmost care
やってます
I'm doing it
From Kosaka-san's perspective, like a sales manager,
with client companies
there are regular meetings and things like
あの
um
sales strategy meetings quite often
and there, issues and needs
we actually take on
and respond to them,
well, that kind of attitude
is relatively strong, I think
So there, always
humbly
we have to interact with sincerity
because when we make unreasonable requests, they won't accept them
なることも
and that
actually happened back in my first year or two
For our clients as well as our suppliers, we want to build a mutually win-win relationship, so
if Kosaka-san says so, then well,
can't be helped, things like that have started to happen
have started to come up, so
relationships through person-to-person communication are something you really have to
