I ask for the understanding and support of the people for the new cabinet.
Here, I asked Fuji TV's Chief Commentator Matsuyama.
It is becoming a point of the front line, but
since Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Hayashi is changing this time,
how do you see this? This was probably the biggest surprise in the cabinet reshuffle, but Yoshimasa Hayashi, the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications,
was a rival as an opponent in the previous presidential election,
and since he received more votes than Ms. Takaichi in the first round of voting,
I think she was quite wary of him.
What Ms. Takaichi said at the press conference after the cabinet reshuffle today was
that she had surveyed those who fought with her in the previous presidential election, but
I think Mr. Hayashi probably didn't answer the survey, submitted it blank, or didn't write down a preference.
By not being in the cabinet this time, I think Ms. Takaichi will have a source of anxiety for next year's presidential election.
What is the aim seen from the new Takaichi team?
What could it be? Looking at the overall lineup, she has chosen a lineup that is practical and policy-oriented, but she is making appointments that are considered relatively plain.
Prime Minister Takaichi dared to do this here,
I think she prioritized the stability of the current administration over picking people who would attract the attention of voters.
It was also called a revolutionary cabinet, but what is this 'revolutionary' based on?
It was born from
regardless of factions or
gender, and regardless of the number of times elected,
whether they can really implement policies, whether they have expertise, and whether they can answer well in the Diet when bills are submitted. Since there is no precedent for a Prime Minister to reshuffle based on these criteria, it is called revolutionary.
However, looking at the lineup this time,
various hidden intentions can be seen through it, for example, Mr. Ishii, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and Mr. Yanagi, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
This area is the former Abe faction, but
even though there were issues, they have the ability, so well
plus they have won two elections, so we will acknowledge their expertise to some extent and have appointed them to the cabinet this time.
Also, regarding those who had issues, I think there are various opinions even within this group, but
how do you feel about that? Perhaps Mr. Takahashi himself thinks that if he has the current high level of support,
he has the confidence that he has the strength to overcome it.
And if anything, rather than public opinion measures, it is to secure the party foundation,
to ensure the foundation of the administration,
the Aso faction and the Abe faction, where issues were pointed out,
I think he chose that path, the path of appointing those problematic lawmakers, in order to make many of their members his allies.
